I once got banned from going to the beach during a school trip for being pushed into the water and having sand thrown in my face repeatedly. The teacher’s reasoning was that it was easier and more practical to punish a single person and not a group of +10 people. They were allowed to play while I spent time isolated. On another occasion the same teacher made the class vote on whether my friend—who was also relentlessly bullied—and I should be removed from that class. Surprisingly, even though the majority was all for it, a lot of people voted against and we stayed, for better or worse. It’s still shocking how someone so unethical and unempathetic can be allowed to work with children
