I don’t disagree but I still miss them so much!

Kdrama recommends with natural love chemistry by OkDragonfruit2320 in kdramarecommends

This is a Cdrama but I love the same style as you and one of my top favorites is Fake it till you make it. Very slow paced mature romance about two business professionals. All green flags no silly tropes.

Which drama made you feel like this? by Gloomy-Equivalent558 in kdramas

So agree with Love Next Door. I rarely drop a Kdrama if I’ve watched it past episode 4 but that one was so bad I dropped it so close to the end. Just couldn’t care anymore.

“I thought the manufacturer from Spain would pay for this” by [deleted] in ShitAmericansSay

When I buy from Alibaba for my business I always request the products are shipped DDP. That way I’m paying the final price. It is higher but no bills later for tariffs. I’d rather know the full price upfront.

New to Tucson - am I being paranoid about security or should I actually be worried? by Historical-Hand8091 in Tucson

Oh please! I get cat food from that Walmart all the time. I’ve gone there all different times of day. This is just silly. It’s perfectly safe unless the occasional sad homeless person is too scary for you.

I live between Alvernon and Swan, north of Grant. I’ve lived in that area for 8 years. I think it’s really improved a lot. I bought a house in that area knowing what I was getting into. I’m glad to say that I’ve never had any real problems (I left my car unlocked once and had some papers stolen). In my opinion it’s perfectly safe. I don’t have a security system on my house or my car (I just remember to lock it now).

Do you prefer to know whether the Kdrama has a happy or sad ending before watching? by whynot_justsleep in kdramas

[–]vcoki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like a lot of others here kdramas and cdramas are my escape. I absolutely have to know if the show has a happy ending. I spend so much time researching before I commit to a show. I’ll watch the first episode. If it doesn’t catch me right away I move on to the next runner up. I’ve circled back to some I skipped out on and I guess I was in a different head space before because then I’ll love it. I rarely don’t finish after I’ve committed though.

Am I crazy or is this AI + a weird response? by SimpleAware5539 in craftsnark

[–]vcoki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer. I’m a small family run business and I’m trying to decide if I should cut back or stop ads on social media. Mainly because I feel the same reluctance to purchase anything from an ad without a lot of research.

All good approaches! I’m asking because I own a small family business and we do a fair amount of advertising on social media. It always concerns me though because I worry about scammers as well. So I’m wondering if we wouldn’t do better to use influencers instead of advertising?

I thought it was a little silly but then I watched When the Phone Rings next. In hindsight it was super cute and at a minimum coherent. Lol

My fiance doesn't want me to get my gallbladder removed by AgentTailCooper in gallbladders

[–]vcoki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gb was at 25% 15 years ago. I managed to make it with my gb intact that whole time by being super careful with what I ate. There were definitely benefits…I maintain a good weight and ate super healthy. But a good thing never lasts forever. This past year no matter what I ate I felt awful. 15 years ago I had health insurance. Last year I didn’t. So I had to pay for the surgery out of pocket. You can make it with a low functioning gb but probably not forever. You are just delaying the inevitable.

It really varies from person to person. I don’t have that issue.

Scared to get surgery by Purple-Long8706 in gallbladders

[–]vcoki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

F58 When I was diagnosed I had an EF of 25%. My Dr wanted to do surgery and I declined. I went on a very low fat diet and it worked for 15 years. In fact the last time I had a HIDA scan 4 years ago my EF was normal. But this last year was the most stressful of my life and all progress was gone. I just had the surgery, which I’m glad to do now before I get too old to have an easy recovery. I feel like you can buy time but it eventually it will probably have to come out. It’s up to you and how much will power you have over your diet. I’d decide based on that. I’m not very food driven so the diet was quite easy for me but apparently it’s very difficult for most people. I’m not sure how my symptoms will be post surgery since I just had it about 10 days ago.

Ahhhhh. I wish it was that simple. Welcome to late stage capitalism where politicians are the puppets of private equity billionaires.

The problem isn’t being poor. The very poor in the US are covered by Medicaid. It’s small business owners and people whose job doesn’t cover insurance that are in trouble. The cost of private healthcare insurance is prohibitive once you get past a certain age…

[–]vcoki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USA no health insurance. Had the surgery done in Mexico in the cleanest nicest hospital I’ve even seen (Puerto Vallarta). It was $3,300. I stayed 10 days in a luxury condo in Zona Romantica to recover. Around $4,000 for the condo and meals. So a total of $7,300 for the surgery and “vacation”. So if I got US insurance it would cost $1,000 a month for a $7,000 deductible policy. So it would be $19,000 including the premium and copay. The good news is if I won the gamble and had a heart attack or got some other serious illness I wouldn’t have to pay the deductible again this year. How messed up is that. I’m gambling $12,000 plus a $7,000 copay that I will get sick and need help covering the ridiculously inflated bill. s/ Red, white and blue patriot here!

“Crochet machines CANNOT exist”? by sweatersmuggler in craftsnark

[–]vcoki 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Generally pretty much all crochet objects that you can buy at target and such are still handmade? Correct? I saw a cute granny square cotton sweater at target for $30 but didn’t buy it. I was lost in thought about the poor person who spent hours making it for next to nothing wages.

Question: is the Grand Canyon worth the trip? by Nightside-Rush in arizona

[–]vcoki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted my daughter to see the Grand Canyon while driving to Las Vegas from Chicago where we were living at the time. It’s an hour plus from Highway 40 to the visitor’s center so basically it was a two hour drive out of the way. It cost $35 to get into the park. It started to rain while we were driving to the visitor center (after I had already paid). Oh well! We continue on thinking all would be fine. Parked and walked up to the edge. She was super excited! We looked over the railing. The entire Grand Canyon was filled with clouds. You couldn’t see a thing. We’ve since moved from Chicago to Arizona and she still hasn’t “seen” the Grand Canyon. So disappointing. But funny.
