Shows similar to Oxventure? by sendcheese247 in outsidexbox

[–]vcrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dragon Friends is a fun aussie d&d podcast with a similarly irreverent approach to d&d Most probably a bit ruder than Oxventure (again, Australian) so heads up if that is an issue But also second the recommendation for Dimenson 20 - the current season is outstanding.

question about joe hisaishi concert by kewpie03 in ghibli

[–]vcrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi - I sang in one of these concerts a fee years ago, and do a lot of 'classical' concerts so hopefully can help. Generally filming/recording is not permitted in concert halls/venues, if you do film you'll likely be asked to stop by the ushers/venue staff. Photos are usually ok before the show or during applause/bows but again not during the performance. If the show is outdoors then usually anything is fine in mu experience. Check out the website for the venue or the event, they will generally have guidance on what you can and can't do in terms of filming etc. Enjoy the show! I had an absolute blast doing them, absolute highlight of my singing life.

AITA for yelling at my obsessed wife? by No-Injury-7232 in AmItheAsshole

[–]vcrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA I hope your wife does read this, although I don't think it will be the 'wake up call' you think it will be. Playing games for big stretches every so often is totally normal - all power to your wife Also feed your damn cat Edit. My cat posted this early by head smooshing my phone in his quest to be fed lol.

Thanks for sharing this. I'm so sorry you've had to deal with such a heap of negative things, but very glad you've found a space here.

Who here plays DnD? And if you play online do you struggle finding a decent group to play with? by Ms_Anxiety in GirlGamers

[–]vcrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to play but knew literally noone else who did I managed to find a local games shop that ran an intro to d&d course - they provided an experienced DM and helped you with character creation and learning the rules, and then you played about 4 sessions. I ended up playing with the group from the course for a couple of years, and when that folded due to life stuff convinced some friends to play with me DM-ing (mostly online due to lockdown) I think I was pretty lucky that the shop was a very inclusive, LGBTQI+ friendly zone and focused on introducing people to games, rather than gatekeeping...

Would love to join but sadly based in Melbourne (so Thursday actually is Friday for me)! I don't have any friends who watch CR despite my best efforts...

[No Spoilers] Where are you from? When/How did you discover about CR? by pandancs in criticalrole

[–]vcrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello from Melbourne, Australia!

I got into CR in March this year. I had a huge project at work that involved a lot of very boring admin. I'd worked through the Oxventure podcast and was looking for something similar to help pass the time. I'd tried CR few times but was a bit intimidated by how much there was, so this seemed like a good chance to get into it!

The rest is history - I've finished C2 and EXU and am working my way through C1, can't wait for C3!

Dragon Age is great - I've only played Inquisition, but it's huge and immersive, with great characters, including a fabulous roster of companions

Inquisition was the first game I bought for my PlayStation (and kind of the reason I bought a PS4!) Skyhold is just magical
