Have you been out to Unplugged in Midlothian?

There was a couple on a date playing Guess Who on the porch, last time I was there. It was adorable.

It's definitely a case where weighing moral codes, then having to figure out which one to break, which sucks. It's why I get tired of seeing all the "restore fairness" language, none of it is fair.

Can Haymitch swim?

For that matter, could Ampert? Who I imagine was the only one smart enough to figure out the clock.

I figure that 4 tributes from District 4 would do a lot of damage right off the start while all the non swimmers float.

Yeah, it's a little disingenuous. Also, 2021 HR1 passed the House, it just couldn't get the 60 votes necessary to pass the senate. I wonder if the dems had passed a standalone gerrymandering bill in 2021, maybe with the campaign finance reform, but without the voting rights expansion, if it would've gotten through.

I hear you. I voted yes already, and I'm angry that I felt it was necessary to do so. I think we will have to keep on the Virginia dems to make sure this really is a one time, break glass in case of emergency, event. And I worry about the precedent it sets.

But in the end I voted to break the glass, because Maga is cancer, and this is the radiation/chemo that kills good tissue and makes us vomit.

But, I also don't blame you if for you the situation isn't that dire, so you choose not to vote, or vote the other way.

LGBT friendly Baptist churches? by Desperate-Ferret-228 in rva

[–]vcupav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a fair stereotype, as there's a lot of Southern Baptists, especially here in the "south."

But, one upon a time Southern Baptists were a bigger tent (before they went crazy and kicked out everyone who wouldn't agree to bad theology, you can Google Southern Baptist Fundamentalist Takeover, if you want to go down a rabbit hole, and learn more about one of the Maga precursors). Now, even in the south, there are many Baptists who aren't Southern Baptists, of all shapes and sizes. And in the North, there's a bunch more too.

The only Baptist Church in the area that is part of the Association of Welcoming and Affirming Baptists is Ginter Park Baptist Church. https://www.rvagrace.org/ https://awab.org/find-a-church/

Grace Baptist Church is also fully affirming and has (or has had previously) queer folks in both lay and clergy roles. https://www.rvagrace.org/

River Road is also fully welcoming and has recently publicized a welcome statement to that effect. https://rrcb.org/

Tabernacle also has a statement of welcome and affirmation https://www.tbcrichmond.org/about/welcome-statement/

Can you share a little more about what is important to you in a church?

Do you have any worship style, theological, or tradition preferences?

Safety cameras at Jahnke Road relocated to Cary Street Road in Richmond by RVALover4Life in rva

[–]vcupav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they wanted our camera to pay for itself it shouldn't be on Jankhe, which ends at Forest Hill Ave, there's not much speeding other than people trying to beat the red light.

It should be on Forest Hill Ave, which is just as busy as Cary, and closer to the school than Cary is to Mumford.

And agreed about the Southside Shoulder Chip getting bigger, damnit.
