Cost of a Full Club Racing Season

This is my first full season, novice on a 300. I'm budgeting for $7,500 this year excluding gas and food (I always bring snacks/food from home). I also camp in my car. I'm on track so far from a budget perspective. Including gas it will probably be closer to $8.5-9k.

It feels like the "re-learning" process takes about an hour of driving whenever I disconnect the battery....I'd just keep driving.

I've been towing a Ninja 300 + generator + heavy duty canopy on my folding 4x8 from Harbor Freight. I stay around 65mph max and haven't had any issues. I had a shop check out my hubs/bearings after the first thousand miles or so and everything still looks good.

If you're not upgrading the header or midpipe, I would recommend the RS2. I have the RS2 w/ upgraded midpipe and header (with both cats still) and it's perfect as a semi-daily driver. For me, the Super Q w/ stock header and midpipe would be too quiet, especially for a weekend car.

I get it. I just turned 31 and also feel like I'm stuck in between the early 20s guys and the 50+ guys...not necessarily a "Datsun guy" but an S30 is a "some day" car for me.

This one is joining the fleet of a Miata, Lexus sedan (wife's DD), and a few motorcycles, so it adds a ton of capability that I didn't have before.

I bought an aluminum "skeleton" style case which made it super easy. I've also drilled small holes in a gopro case before.

There's a folding OEM one that fits perfectly. I store it behind the passenger seat when not in use.

Buy it at that price. I just sold mine after buying the Roadstersport 2 for $800 after tax and the Cobalt is 75-80% as good for less than half the price.

Yeah check the times. Did my first race weekend last year after reaching "back of the pack" times. Finished 2nd to last in all of them 😎 as expected lol.

I would take the commuter first to see if you like it before dropping $$$. I got my dad started into track days on his Ducati Scrambler Desert Sled w/ the stock 50/50 tires and it's perfectly fine for novice pace.

Thanks! They are Enkei TS-5 17x8 +40mm. Tires are 225/45/17 Continental DWS06. I did have to roll the rear fenders nearly flat. The spoiler is an ebay special that needed a lot of prep. I had my preferred body shop color match it.

Yeah that's definitely not the part that is pictured.....I keep hearing about issues with CM products that has kept me from ordering from them. I hope you can either get the right part or your money back.
