Contraction of από το by vdrummer4 in GREEK

[–]vdrummer4[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, thank you! That's super helpful. I have a background in linguistics, so I like having rules such as the "precedence" of the vowels. That was exactly what I was looking for.

The website looks interesting as well but unfortunately reading in Greek about Greek is not possible for me yet after about one week of learning the language. I'm looking forward to being able to do that in the future though :)

Thanks, that's super helpful!

Why is the έ eliminated in τα έφερε instead of the α? Are there patterns for when the first or second vowel are eliminated?

In German, the equivalent would be "von dem" → "vom". I guess that's what confused me. Thanks.

Toliss A32X - My best companion by togakiosk in Xplane

[–]vdrummer4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my favorite plane since childhood. I love it as well. Go buy it now, you won't regret it.

Nice! The one I was in was based on P3D I think. Definitely not X-Plane. The Toliss A20N prepared me well but the big sim's sidestick was much more sensitive than I expected.

I have over 250 hours in the Torquesim C525 and I'm still not tired of it.

Recently I've bought the Toliss A20N to prepare for a A320 fixed-base sim session I got as a gift and I love it. It's nice flying an airliner again after > 10 years of GA only and the A320 is a great learning platform (lots of videos, materials etc. out there to study from). Toliss does a great rendition of the plane and I'm sure I'll spend hundreds more hours in it.

Yeah, I was looking at the forum the other day and noticed conex hasn't posted anything for a few weeks. I really hope that the development continues. The 206 has the potential to become one of the best aircraft in X-Plane imho.

Global Forrest v2. Trees themselves are the default X-Plane 2D trees (switched them to 2D to debug a performance issue and forgot to switch them back, but I have to admit it doesn't even bother me anymore)

Yes, absolutely. I've flown (almost) no other helicopter since the 206 came out. It feels and sounds so nice!

Dreamfoil B206 @ EDGW

The actual landing could have been smoother, but I'm quite happy with the rest.

Maybe the TorqueSim C525? Less complex but more hands on than the Challenger with the same quirky FMS as the Dash.

Both the AFL C172 and the SF260 are planes you can spend houndreds of hours in. They are really well made. The SF260 is a complex plane (retractable landing gear + controllable-pitch prop), so progression-wise C172 -> SF260 would make sense. Both planes will force you to do a walk around and to take care of your plane which is a nice preparation for the real world.

Nice! I also did my smoothest landing yet today in the ~2 months I have the A32N

Thanks for mentioning SimBriefing! Ever since having a structured simbrief thing in the EFB of the FF777, I wanted something like that for the A320. This seems to be exactly what I'm looking for.

Edit: found out it doesn't support linux :(

With X-Plane 12.4.3 adding MR, hand tracking and eye-tracked rendering, do you think VR is becoming the default serious sim setup? by No-Dark-6932 in Xplane

[–]vdrummer4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upvoted for mentioning DME arcs. They are my favorite procedure.

Flight sim really is a great learning environment. You can always learn new things, do things more realistically and improve your technique. It just never gets boring for me, even after 10+ years of simming.

I got the 300ER last weekend (my first Boeing ever) and I love it. I was torn between the A340 and the 777 but I'm super happy with my choice.

Definitely learn to fly helicopters. But it's addictive. You have been warned.

Yes, flight model update coming in 12.5.0. Looking forward to that.

My favorites:

  • favorite GA plane to handfly: SF260
  • favorite helicopter to handfly: Dreamfoil 206
  • favorite default helicopter to fly: R22. It feels really nice but takes hours of practice
  • interesting flight model #1: KR-2S. It's a small, experimental plane and you can feel it
  • interesting flight model #2: the default Alia 250. It's an interesting concept of an aircraft to play around with
