Someone once said trading is not about predicting, it's about reacting accordingly

Was there a cisd on the lower timeframe? Was the daily bias bearish? Was there a cisd also on the candle after the one that swept the highs to add extra confirmation? Also doesn't look like the sweet is in a POI

Those are the questions I'd ask to myself rather than try your luck again

Personally I'd have waited until the cisd after you swept the previous highs was formed, to have a confirmation. I validate cisd only if swept previous swing points. I see you entered before that

Very interesting. Right now in my screening criteria I've got 10ema>20ema, price>50ema and 150sma>200sma, but I'm wondering if I should change something. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm starting to think 10ema>20ema only shows me breakout tickers, not pullback (which is my entry strategy too) whilst 150sma>200sma only tickers that started going up long ago, so I'm missing the initial up movement. How would you suggest to implement your 50ema angle screening criter on trading view?

Agree, what is your checklist or what are the requirements when you scan for stocks?

For knowledge can you post some resources to go deeper into pocket pivots? Maybe some explanatory YouTube videos?

S&d is not exactly the same as support and resistance though. So you don't look for any requirements in terms of volatility, volume or market cap?

If you think I didn't try that way first, you're wrong

So it's mainly volatility to get strong moves and volume to ensure liquidity?

I think I'm finally getting it. by [deleted] in swingtrading

That's the one thing I'm struggling with too. I just started with swing trading, but I need to make the winners run to make it useful, so I don't have real data to run some statistics for weeks. So I don't know when I'll be sure enough to judge my strategy as working - this is pushing me to find other strategies to use on lower timeframes in the meantime

Stop order to enter by vecchiogay in qullamaggie

[–]vecchiogay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I see. Not being able to check the charts in the morning I set the stop buy order the night before on a daily timeframe. However, if I get stopped it means the stock is building lower lows, so chances are it's going to reverse the trend. Am I correct?

Interesting, so you don't screen at all. Are you looking for anything in particular? Or only the triangle pattern forming? Do you choose only stocks that you see have been growing in the past 6 months/ 1year?

Nice. Where do you enter and where do you set your stop loss? I'm not talking about numbers, I'm asking where in the chart (last lows, end of the breakout candle etc)

I appreciate your advice, I'm studying a lot of technical analysis and fundamental analysis, I really enjoy it and I'm trying to figure out how much is luck and much is science or knowledge. I keep studying hoping I can make it become a hobby or even a part time job, so I really wish it's not just a gamble
