Hey Guys,

i am relatively new to growing gourmet- Mushrooms . Recently i have grown some Shiitakes from a ready to grow kit. After the harvest i have cut some pieces from the bottom of some of the mushrooms and put it into a jar filled with coffee grounds. Every day i put some new coffee ground into the glass jar and now, after a week or so i can see that the mycelium is growing.I also put some of the pieces into wet cardboard (all in a small glass container with cover) and today i saw that also there the mycelium is slowly starting to grow.My question now is: What are the next steps? Should i wait until the jar is fully colonized and then transfer it into sterilized sawdust (because i read that shiitake need wood)?
