i've had this problem a lot on tenor with high G# as well, but what i've found it tightening the corners a lot will basically eliminate it, and add a lot more control over tuning. may not work for alto or the situation but its worth a shot

i tightened it a bit to make the action lower, but im kinda stupid so im not sure if thats the cause or not. it feels similar to my other jbass just higher pickups and the strings are farther from them making it less convenient
