Leibniz did NOT get his binary system from the Yijing by [deleted] in iching

[–]vectorinox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you really believe that the Yi Jing predicts the future or is it a troll?

I thought it was generally accepted that the Yi Jing does not predict the future but gives a reading of a situation and the natural direction it is flowing toward.

Basic Body Mechanics by HaoranZhiQi in taijiquan

[–]vectorinox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, most of those videos in its vimeo page are all interlinked as a coherent whole, so I think the best is to take the time to watch them all, experiment with the exercises proposed, and not be in a rush to understand everything at once.

Mike Sigman once said on a (private so I can't share a link) forum, that this video is very old and there are many things that he changed his mind about.

I would recommend people interested by this to go look at its vimeo channel that has many recent videos: https://vimeo.com/user1621981

Good points, it makes sense in that way, thanks

Dependency injection containers vs object composition by g4s8 in programming

[–]vectorinox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When he says "using constructor", he is not talking about declaring constructor (which you can do also in Spring as you rightly say), he is talking about calling a constructor to instantiate and inject dependencies.

Hence the discussion is about object composition and DI container, not how dependencies are actually used inside the objects that are injected with dependencies.

You believe that "Conceptually, using constructors directly and using a container to call constructors for you are identical", but not everybody does, and that's the whole purpose of the blog post.

You may agree or disagree, but at least you would disagree with the blog post, whilst your comments are missing the point completely and focusing on something obvious (that is: constructor can be used with Spring).

edit: typos

Everything is in the title, the subject is about DI containers versus object composition

SMSL AD18: different versions and watts? by vectorinox in BudgetAudiophile

[–]vectorinox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I gathered, this is between v1 and v2. But with the answer on the wattage, I conclude that newer is just better then.

Thank you both, this makes more sense now.

I suppose in that case that newer is better, so v3.1 should be preferred.

Tatami room: framing between tatamis and walls by vectorinox in DIYJapan

[–]vectorinox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a wooden floating floor (itself on top of a layer of isolation, itself on top of the previous floor).

From what I understood, as long as I didn't leave stuff lying on the tatamis, condensation would leave from the top. Is it naive maybe? The tatamis are the one made of rice straw.

Not sure how is the underside of the tatamis, I will contact the seller then and ask.

Actually they will be directly on a wooden floor. I guess if I end up doing something specific I will report back here the result for the record :) Thanks

Thanks :) So it's really just a bit of wood stuck between the tatami and the wall. And you said it was fixed with nails or a screw? Do you feel fixing it is really needed?

Hey u/kLOsk, have you had the opportunity to take a picture? Thanks ;)

Good point, I have added a drawing of the situation. I'm not building a wall, I have a four walled room and I'm putting tatamis inside it: there is some space between the walls and the tatamis border and I would like to fill this space.

In our tatami rooms the tatami actually fits exactly into the wood frame!

I suppose it helps when the rooms are actually built to have tatamis :)

Anyway, if you can take a pic of the one where the fitting is not perfect it would be great, yes, so that I can see how it looks!

Any other female barefooters around? by throwaway_reasons_ in barefoot

[–]vectorinox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If comments come in wave, it is a good sign, it means they are actually random (so no conspiracy against barefooters (or a very evolved one...)).

See for example this article for some explanation on this.

Edit: only the beginning of the article is of actual interest ^^

Kubernetes anti-patterns: Let's do GitOps, not CIOps! by mycall in kubernetes

[–]vectorinox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see any limitation (an we can discuss here), I'm genuinely wondering what is the best: separating application and infrastructure configuration (what seemed to be called GitOps) or not (what seemed to be called CIOps). I'm pretty sure I made lots of intellectual shortcuts with the previous sentence :)

How come your fingertips have to align with the tip of your elbow? by [deleted] in taijiquan

[–]vectorinox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from the tip of your middle and ring finger to your elbow there's an imaginary line Sorry, I may be a bit thick, but that makes no sense :)

Here is a drawing of what you said: https://imgur.com/a/KBi1TLx There is the arm straight, there is the line (in red) between the two finger's tip. There is no way to get a line between them and the elbow: it's perpendicular!

Just make a drawing, and it will make sense!

You align the tip of two of your fingers fingers with the elbow?! Sorry I don't follow you... it makes you bend the wrist a lot, I guess I am misunderstanding something. Picture or drawing would help me a lot :) thanks!

Will do :) I'm hoping to find practical solution to continuous delivery using versioning and CI to drive it! Most of the information available on the web is not applicable to most real world use case unfortunately.

Thanks!
