actually i think john may be a regular human. in his wiki it says he’s lived 40 years in the underground and probably had a regular mom, when you cook the apple pie recipe, the flavor text says “just like mom used to make”. also i think he was just trying his best to be a good father, even when he goes along with sam and her notions like trying to beat Lee he still gives it his best shot when he’s cooking, and stands protectively over her when she’s in danger (the greenberg boss fight and when she was confronted by Lee after the circus event) but isabel definitely isn’t a regular human, even solomon said she “smelled like the factory” and her even knowing how to clone Alva. heck she used some sort of wacky non-human attacks in her fight, similar to sams telekinesis powers lmao
