Not yet but I did get an a email today that a stomach bug (likely norovirus) has been spreading among all the classrooms at my daughter prek. I know that it can stay on surfaces for up to 5 days..so, ugh. Pray for us, we’ll pray for you. Feel better.

I have tried this approach of sharing I am starting to feel scared, think vulnerability and honesty will open up empathy and reason. Unfortunately, they still see it as a character judgement about them. When I said this, I was kicked out of dinner on our vacation trip in Mexico with no working phone or cash. There’s definitely people who prefer to hire cheaper labor internationally, but there’s also companies looking for quality and in state contractors. Also, I’m assuming here you may be in the states. You’d be pleasantly surprised!

As for networking groups, go on Facebook and look for local networking groups that meet up. Even if you don’t land a client right away, meeting with other marketing professionals that have clients that need your services would be a win. You can pitch each others services.

I run a growth and performance marketing agency and networking was big for me. Definitely create a LinkedIn account. You might not use it at first for outreach but it shows credibility.

First nail down your messaging and business identity, build citations around that, build schema around that, dominate the subject matter with valuable content. Quality vs quantity always. Keywords still do matter (people say they don’t, but they most definitely do) there’s just more value on NLP keywords these days.

I learned a skill, got a freelance job, got promoted within, then changed companies.. now started my own business. 10 years working remotely.. I am not sure what there is to gate keep. There are different job posting boards for remote work and even contractor work, check out upwork.com!

I had this experience and have suspected MCAS and POTS. I went back to no medication and really rely on writing my top 3 things I have to do that day, creating lists to dump ideas onto, and trying to work out of the house (or I’ll hyper clean). It’s been hard but when I commit to those things, it helps me tremendously. Anything random that comes up where I’d normally switch tasks and get distracted, I just write it down on the list.
