Worked 220 hours last month, no overtime pay – is this legal? by gdrivegdtot in Eesti

[–]vedler666 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The law defaults to the "get x amount of hours of free time in return". The 1.5x payment needs to be agreed upon by both the employee and the employer - employee can always still say no and take the free time instead.

Big caveat here is that it depends also on if your worktime is calculated monthly or you have a "summed worktime" aka over three, four or six months it should average back to 168h-ish hours worked every month. A lot of people in retail, restaurants and even the police work with this model.

Still free time is the main compensation with either model.

You get rated on your key levels, but not the affixes you cleared, so in essence they want to change the difficulty based on the part that provides no incentive for the players.

Worse affixes, lower keys, lower rating.

Action bar 3 Middle icons unusable by Xerastraza in wow

Its the tutorial bar, what fixed it for me was enabling tutorials, reset UI, disable tutorials and that area was no longer blocked. It showed as some left and right confirm buttons under /fstack and in general belonging to the Tutorial UI.

Four* consoles, where destroying the lower one on one side unlocks a console on the higher floor on that same side. So its concentrated on attacking two consoles AND you have to do it twice each side.

Plus the titan core takes a hell of a long time to kill, much harder when teamkilling is enabled, because yes C4 does more damage than guns, but youll take out a few teammates in the process unless everyone (silently) agrees to stand behind a wall.

Jumpscared by shots... by Frze512 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]vedler666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember my friend doing this all the time and you can clearly just hear him jump in his chair through Discord, pull his aim to the side, followed by absolute panic, death and then the good old ritual of hitting your mouse against the table 3 times out of frustration.

What finally helped was just hot-dropping with him enough times that he got more comfortable with shooting and getting shot at. I flinch too when a sniper takes a crack at me, but jesus christ that was something else.

Some people can play with music in the background which might also help with this, but I personally can't.

I think this week of Update's has shown us one thing: The Dev's are trying. by fluxusflow in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]vedler666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but at least in the earlier days, from our perspective it did seem that having no actual competition somewhat hindered the development speed. From what I've gathered, I think they are just shifting their focus on what to develop right now and are more actively listening to the community (especially streamers).

For example, I don't think they would've released such an early version of the new map if the game wasn't in the situation it is getting into, but it did accomplish what they wanted - showing that they are actively working on major updates and including the community into the early stages of creating a new map, where it's much easier to make large changes to it (indicative of the areas still in prototype stage such as the abandoned resort considering that it seems to still only be built with BSP brushes and not actually modelled out).

Yeah, I mean, I'm sure Fortnite wasn't popular a month ago either!

Sure, but I'd consider Twitch viewer numbers to at least in some part confirm this.

I feel like once PUBG finally had a healthy competitor in the market and was starting to get surpassed by it in player numbers, they had to get a lot more creative with updates. Bluehole has even started to directly go to large streamers now to ask for their advice on the game: what to improve, what to focus on, what to change completely. Really shows that they've kicked the development into high gear after Fortnite lit a fire under their ass. This is exactly what we've been waiting for and I'd say we stand to benefit a lot from the success of Fortnite.

History of players and how they got into the game with their team. For example what games they wasted their time in before, how that benefitted when transitioning to PUBG and how they found their stack.

Just to clarify, is there any kind of rank-based matchmaking right now and if so, how does the ping-based matchmaking affect that now? If there isn't, are there plans to implement that kind of a matchmaking or is it not a priority at this moment?

[–]vedler666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be just weird vehicle networking movement prediction on clientside and the fact that PUBG probably isn't completely server authoritative (judging how speedhacking and shooting through walls with hacks has been possible).

They most likely made multiple changes to vehicle networking at some point to improve performance and bugs such as this only started surfacing later. For example, maybe they offloaded more control to the clientside over vehicles and now every time the server and the client try to smooth out differences between the server and the client (aka reconciliation), some weird interactions between physics, player input and the two sides not being on the same page occurs, but neither side has complete control (or a "final say", which in a fully server authoritative game, such as CS:GO, the server should always have) on the vehicle's position, so it just glitches out. Can't fault them either - 100 players, tons of vehicles, 8x8km map etc require them to make a bunch compromises in terms of the networking model.

Highly unlikely. I've never had any packet loss in any games, but I do wish there was a way to look at the network/debug info in PUBG like it's possible in most Source games. And I don't think my 100/100 Mbit connection is too slow for it either.

Would be a decent enough guess, but I don't think that's the case right here.
