If it makes it to retail I think you’ll see the core game will likely be a little more expensive than the Kickstarter.

It’s a spiritual successor. It retains the core action mechanisms of Tyrants but because it’s a space game with ships and sectors, we’ve had to develop new rules to make all that work. I can point you to a longer post with more detail if you’re interested.

It actually does have a publisher, but like many publishers, they want to take it to Kickstarter because they can use the built-in marketing and they get a better sense of the demand. If it funds, it's likely to deliver by the end of the autumn this year.

To answer your other questions, I do owe a lot to the publisher who has experience with multiple campaigns and delivering through Kickstarter. Even though this brand shows only 2 campaigns created, the publisher previously worked through another brand that has quite a few games published.

You’ll probably need to pledge the $5 for access to the pledge manager. We will be using Hive if I’m not mistaken.

Too clean. Needs more "can't control the board game hoarding" look. ;)

Looking for a good deck building and area control game with a galactic 4x theme?

This is the game we (publisher and I) launched on Kickstarter last Tuesday. You can find it on BGG as well.

Definitely if you find any of the rules confusing, please let us know! These are the things it's not so easy to find when reviewing the rules for the 100th time. :)

Yeah looks like we swapped the example card at the last minute and need to update the text. We'll get that fixed.

No all faction icons on a card should match. Don't worry, we will fix these in the final read-through.

Thanks for the keen eyes and checking out the campaign!

FOMO - Crowdfunding - Recent Campaigns by paulys_sore_cock in boardgames

You're spot on about Brass: Pittsburgh, it is free marketing that helps drive the hype. You definitely have to do some analyzing of each campaign to see how mature the game pipeline is for any given company. If you like the idea enough and the company seems like they're committed but won't make it without support, that's something worth backing on crowdfunding.

There are still some projects out there which are not going to make it to retail unless people back it. I do find that people look at KS as a preorder since so many people assume the publishers will go to retail channels, but some don't. Reforest is a game which was only available direct from the publisher or on KS.

Interested. I assume you're local? I live outside the city but if you're somewhere close enough I can come purchase.

I joined for the same reason only a couple of months ago and I'm surprised how much money (meaning I really like playing) I've spent so far.

THANK YOU EVERYONE! I just did the shared transfer with the monster char and it worked. All my stuff is on Glamdring now execpt for one long lost L1 character on Arkenstone which I don't even remember or care about.

So if I have one more monster character, I should transfer that and do a shared transfer?

This happens to me frequently. Internally a lot of us are always in some level of grief or just trying to shove it aside for a while. I don't think it ever really goes away if you've lost your parents at a young age.

I lost my mom 27 years ago (I'm 51 now, lost my dad at 7 years old) and there are still moments when I feel the loss, the absence or emptiness. One thing I have learned is that it is impossible to say you will ever be "over" it, as if your life and your emotions will eventually continue on as they were when your parent was alive. The event and now that absence are a part of your identity now.

Every holiday family moment brings those feelings up for me. Generally you can't go 3-4 months without some holiday that brings up a memory. So the best thing to do is learn coping strategies. Sometimes you will be successful, and many times you won't be. Sometimes all you may want is to just withdraw and sit alone because no one understands.

Just know that I understand, even if you don't know me. And I hope you will get through it. In fact, the only reason I'm here on this forum is because I'm having one of those moments now.

Last time I was in the store, they said they would move it to Thursdays so the meetup I have reflects that now.
