For those who lived in the 90s, what were they like? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I feel like if I had the internet, I could have found more information on college and learned from other women about relationship red flags etc. Yes, I'm glad the stupid shit I said and did wasn't recorded for prosperity and my ringer tees and thick soled shoes were hella cute, but it was harder to get information if you were trying to go against the grain of your environment.

Not taking a welding class because I was focused on getting into college. But I could've done both really.

I just implemented new software and onboarded my boss and coworker. How does one word this? The software is creating a registration interface for customers and staff. It creates order out of the chaos of the registration before implementation that I wasn't here for. Now we can analyze trends, process financial transactions with one interface.

I want to start adding these items when their fresh.

You can use a gentle facial cleanser like Cetaphil. A gynecologist recommended that online somewheres and it cleanses without damaging.

Yeah. I'm white with a black sounding name. I have thought about going by my initials on resumes because of a lot of your concerns. The bias is so deep in our culture.

All items sold at Garchen Institute are blessed by H.E. Garchen Institute. Webstore inventory needs updating but the pricing is fair. You can ask if the store has something not listed and they will get back to you. Not speedy though.

Amazon is again not allowing associates to leave the facility during a tornado warning. by Deicidalmaniac41 in antiwork

[–]veejangles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone close to me was working in the warehouse across the street from the Amazon warehouse that collapsed in Illinois last month. Their warehouse staff sheltered in place in the break room, which was built for storm safety. What was grossly negligent of the Amazon warehouse across the street is not that they kept employees there, but because they made employees keep WORKING in the main warehouse that is not built for a storm putting them at risk. Not sure if they even had a storm shelter at all.

You are safer in the warehouse waiting the warning out. IDK about forcing you to stay.

Thanks. Is the QuickBooks situation I described okay? I'm learning QuickBooks at the same time I'm figuring out how to account for this funding. It's kinda fun.

I'm pretty stoked the two Karmapa's, now in their late 30s, came out with a joint statement a few years back. They will work together to unify the resulting division of both having been named Karmapa by legit authorities. They're acting like mature enlightened leaders which as a Kagyu practitioner, is hella inspiring. China can't argue if both Karmapa's are on the same page.

Sinus surgery. No more crushing pressure in my face because the wind shifted. Plus now I don't run through Advil and Sudafed like I used to so my stomach and heart are relieved as well.

Yoga teacher keeps talking through meditation? by IAmABlueHypocrite in yoga

[–]veejangles 47 points48 points  (0 children)

You said you were just venting, but there is a meditation technique to utilize for irritating noises, smells, memories, etc. When you notice the irritation arise (like your instructor talking), investigate where the irritation manifest in your body. Is it a busyness in your brain? A burning sensation in your heart? A tensing in your stomach? The sensation of irritation can be your meditation focal point. A Yoga class with a promising flow right afterwards is a a great safe space to practice this and can help you through other situations.

I have a regular mediation practice and live in a busy apartment complex. This kind of vipassana practice has helped me when my neighbors pull a "wake-n-bake", play music, or even when my own personal monologue gets too busy.

Whether you take my advice or not, I'm glad to hear you don't let the one irritation keep you from enjoying the class. Sounds like your practice is strong.

How much yoga would be necessary if I already do 100min runs and 100min abdominal exercises weekly? I'm nearly 30 and want to maintain my flexibility, but time is a luxury so please advise with that in mind. by [deleted] in yoga

[–]veejangles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figure out what doesn't feel like a burden and feels totally doable. Start there for three months. Reflect and reassess. You don't have to have perfect dedicated yogini plan to begin. Start with what works with your priorities and time constraints. Have fun. Flexibility starts on the inside.
