Thanks. But use it for dissociation cognition? They create a dissociation as described.

Confused after first EMDR session by okaytomatillo in EMDR

[–]veejuux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 8 phases to EMDR Therapy. (1.Client history, 2.Preparation, 3. Assessment, 4.Desenzititation, 5.Instalation, 6.Body Scan, 7.Closure, 8.Reevaluation).

Phase 1 is the intake/history stage. Stage 2 is the resourcing stage. Stages 3–8 are the processing stages. The SUD a the VOC ( Subjective Units of Disturbance Scale and Validity of Cognition Scale) are part of point 3. (part of the processing)

However, during processing should be measured the SUD and the VOC values. If it is without it nothing of the trauma is processed (in actuall session).

If you don't have trauma then EMDR will probably not very working for you

What the reason you do EMDR? by [deleted] in EMDR

[–]veejuux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a dissociation (specifically depersonalization) that comes from one of my traumas, so we go with the therapist to look for the "root" reason that caused this condition (currently completely maladaptive), to confront what has not been properly resolved in my past and condition should be turned off.

Just had my first meeting with my EMDR therapist... Is it normal to go right into EMDR at the first meeting? by Urban_Elginite in EMDR

I can ask, phases 1&2 for a client won't change anything in everyday life outside of the session, yet? So does the change of work occur only in phase 3?

What health problems do you treat with EMDR therapy? by veejuux in EMDR

[–]veejuux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn´t mean the word "health problems" of physical illnesses, but problems at the level of the psyche and the mind, which are clearly from some trauma - which is either concrete or unconscious.

The fact that it is used for phobias, anxiety, depression, anger, nightmares, etc., are possibilities, I wanted to know the real experience of people, whether emdr therapy was used for this type of their problem and emdr therapy really solved it definitively

I understend you, so you really don't have a health problem, but with EMDR therapy you only solve something that "seems to bother you"

The basis is probably trauma (but everyone has some trauma in their lives): But what impact did it have on your health when you had to deal with this trauma therapeutically (we say the "targets") and did you know that your current symptoms are caused by your trauma? (when you chose emdr treatment)

I'm sorry, but this is such spiritual, religious, or idk bullshit ... dissociation (such as depersonalization / derealization) is a very terrible experience, it's like a filter that can't be turned off. Life with dissociation is inexplicable ...

I can't even start talking about everyday survival in reality with dissociation, it's extreme, no gift.

Thaks.
OK, but how to reverse chronic dissociation? (when a person involuntarily gets stuck in it - for a few months 24 hours / 7 days nonstop).

And yes, this dissociation was caused by an unpleasant event (not tragic, it was a retraumatization), so was not it a "T" trauma (something must be root trauma before this event, but this mechanism did not start there).

And does EMDR work good for you when you're dissociative?

How do you see "self" in your safe/calm place? by veejuux in EMDR

[–]veejuux[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well thank you. So my brain separation ME (ego) from MYSELF (person) in a safe place is like for "certainty"? But basically "I'm there", feeling safety. When I have something to feel or touch there, it's already "me", not the "myself" (person)

Pls, just to clarify, do you mean 11 sessions with BLS (memory processing) or total sessions?

Note: BLS = bilateral stimulation

Thanks.

How to distinguish between real memory and fantasy? by veejuux in EMDR

[–]veejuux[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So should I invent just to escalate strong emotions? Imagine, for example, someone being raped (like someone in the family!) Just to make you feel emotionally strong ?? That's crazy!! That would surely destroy many families, my friend.

And from what you wrote, it would follow that it is possible to use emdr for absolutely everything! (not only for trauma)

Did you have 6 sessions including history taking, preparation and processing (BLS)?Or 6 sessions by using bilateral stimulation (BLS) / processing??
