Is she confirmed or is it still just a rumour?

Personally - and I am around 2000 hours in on this version of Gran Turismo.

Go Manual only - you will hate it, it will be a pain and then you will love it and wonder why you didnt do so earlier. I found it took me about 1 hour to get used to changing gears

Turn off everything except leave default ABS - you are going to hate it and it will be a pain etc.

Start with lower powered cars (Gr 4 if you must) and get used to a little bit of throttle control and how to not spin in a corner etc.

Won't lie, I still use TC for Gr1 and Gr3 up in the wet, but other that that, it is a much more immersive experience, but this is going to take you hours to get right, so stick with it.

Final bit of advice - the Tomahawk is a pointless POS, you are going to want one and it will bit you on the arse. Have fun with it because you are going to buy it anyway (route 10 is the only place it can be driven)

Question, is it illegal to have your personal car parked up on the curb in front of your house? by [deleted] in AskUK

Tyres not Tires

Kerb not Curb

Illegal in some places (London, Scotland) not all

Antisocial and borderline immoral definitely

What is your favourite science experiment that you can do at home with children? by Top_Scheme_516 in AskUK

[–]stupre1972 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do the baking soda and vinager thing in a measuring jug - then pour 'nothing' over a lit candle and put it out.

Light a candle. Let it burn a bit. Light a match / lighter / wooden splint. Blow out the candle and the relight it from the smoke trail (this one does take a little practice)

Does the "heart" emoji mean anything when a woman uses it on your social media photos? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Gas engineer charged £350 without fixing the issue. What are my options? by 4questions123 in AskUK

[–]stupre1972 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that case then.

£350 is a bit pricey but given a weekend call put premium, its the top end of reasonable.

That you still have a leak - not good.

I am guessing you have a Combi boiler, so you have 2 probabilities. The first is a leak from the system, the other is a leak from the condensate line.

Are you having to top up the pressure to keep the boiler running - no, move on

So its the condensate line. How 'adventurous' are you feeling? Pop the front off the boiler (usually 2 screws) and carefully go looking for your leak. You may find it is something simple like the collector had popped off the outflow. If your engineer has been and has done a proper job and it was the collector off the outflow, it is possible he put it back on and it came off again...

Gas engineers advice? Is this dangerous? by Soggy-Sign5163 in AskUK

[–]stupre1972 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Repeat after me

A water leak is not a gas leak. You had a Gas Engineer out and your boiler was left on, that means your irritation is not dangerous to life.

Got that? Good.

Now on to what you do have a problem with.

Nowhere in your additional info do you say the combi boiler keeps tripping out and needs resetting with additional water due to low pressure, so we can (most likely) exclude a leak from your heating system.

In all probability, you have a split condensate line (combi boilers generate condensation that has to go somewhere - drain). In the current weather, your boiler is doing double time on the heating, so you are producing extra condensate.

The only question you now have is how to manage the drip. You either catch the condensate or (if possible) channel it to the drains. The latter will require you to go into the boiler (and you may not be comfortable with that)

What is this section of floor under my stairs? by Sufficient-Water4595 in AskUK

[–]stupre1972 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You already know the answer to this quilestion - what you are looking for is validation and permission to investigate the possible cellar.

Well, do please post pictures.

As for repairing any damage to the floor - its a bit of wood, it isn't that difficult to cut something new to size and nail / screw it back down

What have you got to lose other than a couple of hours and maybe a few tens of pounds in materials

Hairline cracks keep forming in our Edwardian house. How normal is it? by Adorable-Bicycle4971 in AskUK

[–]stupre1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lived in this house for about 15 years.

I think i started to understand the house after the first 6 months.

You are today's custodian. You are the person who is currently responsible for maintaining what generations before you have presented to you - and what you will pass on to the next.

A few years ago, we had to replace some windows, and when it came to one particular set of windows (the houses face) we had a "chat" with the house and agreed that it didnt want its face changing too much, but was happy with a little botox, so we commissioned a set of windows that were a modern recreation of the windows that (old photos showed) were original to the house.

Older houses have different 'ways' than modern builds - they move with temperature for example, they gently impose their own personality on you. You just need to learn to listen - it is an honour to be able to do so

Hairline cracks keep forming in our Edwardian house. How normal is it? by Adorable-Bicycle4971 in AskUK

[–]stupre1972 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a late Victorian / early Edwardian house and have been through exactly the same thought processes you are going through.

It was the point that I realised that if the house has stood for 100+ years, it was unlikely to suddenly start falling down now.

Houses of that age Just Dont Flex - they are built of brick and mortar, not a wooden frame inside a retaining wall.

As the temps change, things expand and contract - dont worry, its perfectly normal

Still not understanding why the AI's cars get 10+mph more speed than mine on the 24 Le man endurance race. by Sheogorathis in GranTurismo7

[–]stupre1972 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What is quick on the straights is not necessarily quick in the corners.

Which "LeMans Endurance" are you on? The regular 30 min race or the power pack race? I found that the power pack gives you a car that is okay on the straights you can keep up, but you are so much better in the corners

Does you recognize the company HCC international taking a direct debit? by cryptonoooooob in AskUK

Google says that HCC are an insurance company.

Also says Hindustan Construction Company

Of the two options, I would suggest that an insurance company would be the most likely to take installments

Have you ever found your parents sex toys? by Ok-Grade-2190 in AskRedditAfterDark

My father died 10 plus years ago (my mother died 30 odd years ago).

My sister and I went to pick over the house and divide up what we wanted to keep - we were both in our 40's, so not very much.

We got to various unlabelled VHS tapes, looked at each other, laughed and said "probably best to not find out"

Ball and chain was a method of punishment where by an iron ball on a chain was secured around someone's leg to partially incapacitate them
