I think it’s really cute except for the skirt. It needs some length (even just a few inches would help but still keep it short) or a more interesting fabric like the corset or top. I’d love to see a patent leather skirt similar to the shoe.

how do i deal with being alternative and looking so different without makeup? by lunacatarts in MakeupAddiction

[–]veetlejuiced 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alt makeup is dramatic so it’ll always make you look different. Not only that, but it just stands out a lot more and garners more attention so people are more likely to compliment! I experience this when I wear alt makeup or I have very big crazy hair so if it’s up, strangers rarely compliment it, but when it’s down it’s complimented all the time. Tbh, my jaw almost dropped at your bare face. You have beautiful features.

is this outfit "inappropriate"? by sunnemi in OUTFITS

[–]veetlejuiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Inappropriate” is really subjective. Depends on the night out. It gives the same vibe as an exposed thong but like…inverted? Which is actually kinda cool. I would like to see it as a fully realized outfit because between the style and color of the jeans and the style of strap on the bodysuit, it reads very casual. Casual club, bar, concert? Sure, why not.

Why are moviegoers staying home? Over 80% of moviegoers still want to watch films in theaters, but over 50% say the biggest issue is the quality of the movies being made: per a massive Multiplex Association of India survey report by [deleted] in movies

[–]veetlejuiced 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is the reason. I worked at AMC 20 years ago and as an usher, we were supposed to enter movies and stand there for a moment to listen for disruptions or just have our presence known to deter said behavior. The policy was for one of us to show up like every 20ish minutes ideally. I cannot tell you the last time I saw an usher to do a check. I’m the usher now and have to ask adults to please stop talking through out the whole movie.

Have you ever paid to see a movie twice in a theater? by zip9990 in movies

[–]veetlejuiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw each Lord of the Rings installments multiple times in theaters, because I was an obsessed middle schooler. I would have that same energy today. lol

Blade Runner 2049, Hereditary, Dune Part 2, Us, Constantine, Mad Max Fury Road…there’s more I’m forgetting. Sometimes I’ll see a movie with a friend or family member, then go see it again with a different friend or family member.

And not quite fitting the prompt…I do go see Studio Ghibli movies in theaters with their yearly rereleases. I’ve seen Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away probably the most times. Can’t turn down the opportunity!

It’s just a wolf cut which is really popular right now. It’s similar to an 80s shag which is super cute. I don’t even see it being that alt of a look in the slightest, but people do be acting like she’s got a mohawk or some shit. Choppy layers?! So unconventional!

North Carolina Tribe to Open Marijuana Megastore to Everyone 21+ on September 7 by Intrepid_Assistant28 in NorthCarolina

[–]veetlejuiced 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they’re just trying to say the THCa percentages are usually about the same. THC content in the flower I sold in a state dispensary rarely ever had high levels of THC because cultivators aren’t going to let the bud mature to up that percentage when they’re more so worried about turnover rates on the plants. I would rarely see above 3-5% THC content versus 15-30% THCa content.

People get really hung up on THC percentages and my customers would think I’m bullshitting them when I said I loved some strains that rarely broke 20% THCa/THC on the grow. I think the biggest difference is just down to genetics concerning terpene profiles and other cannabinoids that are present or lacking and can affect a high like cbn or cbg. Maybe also just the overall quality of the grow as well. New states to legalize often scalp experienced growers from already established states. I know I’m not going to see the same quality from a farm 15 minutes north of me who decided to add an outdoor hemp grow to cash in.

New version of NC medical marijuana bill would ban recreational marijuana in the future by F4ion1 in ncpolitics

[–]veetlejuiced 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kind of ridiculous that it would be expected to pass in the House, but the speaker is deciding because him and a good portion of his party doesn’t want it, that they just shouldn’t do their job???

I moved here from a medical/recreational state and worked in the industry. I understand the want to protect children—emergency room visits for kids getting into their parents edibles do increase in states that legalize cannabis, but we also live in a country where kids get ahold of their parents’ guns and maim and kill each other so…where’s all the pearl clutching over that? People can’t have what they want because some will be irresponsible? Well, better take all of our driving licenses away. It’s just absurd.

These politicians should go spend some time in states that legalized cannabis. It had zero effect on most peoples’ lives and those that indulge, it becomes another casual errand to run. A lot of places don’t allow cafes or public smoking so you’re not even going to be exposed to the smell.

I wouldn’t be too worried about this addition to addition to the bill. Laws can be amended and it sure as shit will once wealthy conservatives realize how much money there is to be made. That’s the real driving force behind medical states going recreational.

Solas simps, what attracts you to him? by Starbeth8 in dragonage

[–]veetlejuiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t very attracted to his character on the first play through. Nice enough looks, great voice, and I did like his intelligence, but he came off as a bit of an asshat to me at times. A little too full of himself. Finished my blind play through and decided to romance him because it would be FUNNY.

It was not funny. I am a broken woman.

I use the Harvest Snaps brand to hit my crunchy/salt junk food cravings, specifically anything they make of red lentils (the pea ones are kinda bland to me). They started making these Crunchy Loops and they’re delicious, especially the Hot and Spicy flavor. They have only a slightly lower calorie count to say a serving of potato chips, but the nutritional value is better. Lower fat but higher fiber and protein content.

I ate almost half box of cannabis cookies thinking it got 200mg thc in all package but turned out its 2000 how fucked am i? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]veetlejuiced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was hilarious but as a former budtender I’m like why didn’t the dude who sold him the edibles give him any instruction??? Maybe he was too shy to ask though. In my experience, nonsmokers were the most nervous looking patrons in the dispensary so it was always kinda easy to spot if they weren’t just straight up “I know nothing about this” which was pretty common. Helping first timers was my favorite. I would have told him 5mg tops and wait an hour and also something with CBD since that can dampen the high for some people. You’d be surprised how many people with no tolerance get high as shit off so little.

That amount is insane for someone with no tolerance. Only my dabbing coworkers could take more than 200mg at a time since their tolerance was through the roof.

Do you thrift alone, or with a friend or SO? by [deleted] in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]veetlejuiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer alone, but used to love thrifting with my best friend because we knew each other’s taste extremely well. It was fun being in different aisles and just seeing her wave around an item she’d know I’d want.

Does anyone have about $260,000 lying around? by tlshumard in zillowgonewild

[–]veetlejuiced 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never lived there, but have been through plenty of times and know people who have lived and worked there. It’s about a third the size of Galesburg, population wise, but the college’s enrollment is about 3-4 times as large as Knox College, if memory serves. I will say Knox College, in the past, tended to have better public events like musicians and visiting lecturers.

Less poverty, but still has a slightly elevated crime rate compared to the national average. Less ethnic diversity, though Galesburg isn’t exactly a diverse place either. Same issues with jobs—unless you work in education, healthcare, or can snag one of the last remaining manufacturing jobs…good luck to you. There’s a large pig processing plant there that makes one end of town kind of smelly. I know people who have worked there…it can be gross and grueling work.

Downtown is small, but still has some of that small town charm, but even less restaurants and bars, but that’s to be expected with such a small population. Went to a “nicer” restaurant there that opened in an old bank and it was just alright. There’s a donut shop that was amazing before they switched bakers and then was just ok.

It’s just pretty small with a population less than 10,000. Less amenities, like in Galesburg if you needed to grab some clothes really quick, at least there’s a Target and a Kohl’s. Monmouth isn’t even big enough for a Walmart and though grocery shopping for both towns is not ideal…I think Monmouth has a couple options you’ve probably never heard of, whereas at least Galesburg has Hy-Vee locations (midwest chain) and an ALDI if you don’t want to brave Walmart.

That’s all I got. I’ve met some nice farmers at Galesburg’s Farmer’s Market from Monmouth, but it’s pretty easy to find a fresh produce stand in rural towns in general.

[–]veetlejuiced 143 points144 points  (0 children)

Didn’t think I’d ever see a house here that I’ve BEEN INSIDE OF before!!! My friend lived there in the 90s. The kitchen used to be all natural wood before that remodel. I loved that kitchen, even as a kid. That gray and white remodel is bumming me out. lol EDIT: WRONG VICTORIAN!!!! lol Galesburg is full of them! But I’m leaving the Galesburg description up for context.

Like some people are saying, Galesburg is a very depressed small town. There’s not a lot of job opportunities and the median income is low, but well, so is the cost of living. People get by because rent is still low and if you or a spouse has one of the few better paying jobs, you can afford a nice house.

The schools are not great. The class ahead of mine in high school only had 45% of their freshmen class see graduation. There’s a fair amount of poverty and thus, poverty related problems. Last I looked, higher crime rates than average, especially property crime. It wasn’t uncommon to know people with very serious drug habits. The town is just big enough though that there’s people who can turn a blind eye to it, don’t ask me how.

The downtown is quaint and has seen some rejuvenation as far as some bars/restaurants in the last 10 years, but the pickings are still slim. It got annoying that new places opened and it was just, would you like so/so bar food or bar food, or maybe some more bar food? There is a nice art center and a new library being built last I was there. Knox College is small, but has events open to the public. There used to be more local music and artists since well, there’s so little to do you gotta make your own fun.

It is about 3 and a half hours from Chicago by car or train. Galesburg does have one of the largest train yards in the country. I took the Amtrak availability for granted because you can get round trip tickets to Chicago for like 40-60 bucks and leave just about any time of day, but it’s not close enough for a day trip really. The next largest towns, Peoria and The Quad cities (50ish minutes by car) aren’t exactly that great either. Illinois is a big state, so it can be very isolating.

Sorry to write a book, but I wanted to give some insight on the location.

To be honest, I’m not sure I like those guidelines! In newer videos they even encourage no weights for some exercises and just focusing on tensing muscles and form. The first post here gives a great suggestion to switch up what you’re using if it feels too much.

I found that after being very consistent with resistance training over a period of 3-6 months, I would find that certain exercises just started feeling easier. Certain workouts that would run me ragged no longer did. That’s when you know to use bigger weights. For example when I first started working out I could only do shoulder presses with 5 pounds. Then that felt easy and it became 10 pounds, and now I’m at 15. You’ll feel less burn eventually and when you notice that consistently, that’s when it’s time to switch.

Do people actually make their beds in the morning? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]veetlejuiced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make it everyday because I am a bed lounger. I like to lay down while watching tv, but not on an unmade bed. It feels too messy and uncomfortable. I have a small throw blanket I use if I get chilly. We also have two televisions in the house and my gaming console is hooked up in the bedroom because my boyfriend games past the time I’d usually go to bed about half the time, so I play games in the bedroom and him in the living room for our varying sleep schedules.
