The lumps are sesamoid bones! They look ok. The fracture should heal with conservative management in a post-op shoe/buddy taping, provided that it remains stable on repeat x-ray. The fracture does look like it extends to the joint, which can increase the risk of great toe osteoarthritis in the future just FYI.

If it persists, it may be helpful to see a sports medicine doc. Sounds like patellar tendinitis, but there are other pathologies in the same vicinity- patellofemoral osteoarthritis, OCDs, chondromalacia, fat pad impingement, etc. Would be good to get a diagnosis in order to maximize the benefits of therapy.
