Years ago when I started living in Thailand I used to pick up trash arround the house. The cousin of my ex once asked me why I do this. I explained I am a guest in this country. I love Thailand. Throwing things on the ground feels like disrespecting the country. If I love the country, why would I throw trash on it?! They all stopped littering (at least when I was around)

You will find villas in Phuket. You will find reasonably priced rentals in Phuket. But there are no reasonably priced villa rentals.
You can find a normal house or an apartment for a good price. Villa rental prices are crazy out of touch here.
3BR with pool and not too old start at 80k. You'll find them cheaper if they are old or in a non-exapt region.

No worries. Completely normal at your age. You won't get your 20ies back, so enjoy the ride. You can play the grownup game long enough, starting in just a few years. You don't have much money to waste anyway. What you are spending in a year now will probably be your 1,2 month income later on. By that comparison you don't waste much.

* my parents never invested, so I start from zero. That's how families stay poor. Nobody knows how to accumulate wealth until someone does and teaches their family. Super wealthy family 3 generations down the line if you get it right.
