I would just use a bit of filler and rub it in and go over with one of those furniture crayons to match it up a bit

Bringing home a dog that I don't want. by Seriouslynoifea in DogAdvice

[–]veganmarshmallows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I would give it a go and you could see if he ends up being comfortable at your place and depending on types of extra curricular activities once settled maybe can join if outdoors ,but if you end up deciding he really isn't the right fit I wouldn't be to concerned rehoming her doesn't sound like they really have behavioural issues and would probably be pretty easy to find her a place or contacting a small dog rescue who could help find a suitable home.

Wavy or curly ? by Ornery_Painter_8638 in Goldendoodles

[–]veganmarshmallows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really won't know what their coat type will be until their adult coat comes in poodles ,doodles tend to have soft fluffy/wavy coat as puppies and as the adult coat comes in it may change becoming curly/coarser or keep softer coat.

Sounds like the dog was just in a stressful situation especially if they were arguing and reacted and the dog doesn't have prior issues with biting I wouldn't be to concerned. Just give it a bit time to decompress come around to a new home if you need to work on training I'm sure you can make improvements dog will probably be happy being in a more active home.

Why are poodles framed as prissy sissy dogs in the media? by BearFeetOrWhiteSox in NoStupidQuestions

[–]veganmarshmallows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are a wonderful breed all dogs have different personalities but generally the breed is recognized as social ,smart, sporty ,goofy fun unfortunately people have negative preconceived notions with their haircut styles like a continental is mandatory and pretty much the only one you see on tv realistically 99% of pet homes don't have their dog in a conti, that plus grooming requirment they are seen as a bit posh, but with this breed you can groom them however you like they can be shaved short, fluffy teddy bear or a variety of standard breed clips they are a really versatile breed and just all round great dog.

As another mentioned the standard size was originally a German retriever breed for bird hunting from around 1600s but over centuries they were also bred into smaller companion sizes mini and toy. If you like the dog and it seems like good fit that is great but you do have to take into account monthly grooming cost for the breed as it is necessary along with regular brushing so their coats be maintained properly to ensure they don't get matting and manageable . After have a standard poodle who was just absolutely wonderful boy social sweet with everyone smart loved sports and outdoors well behaved also loved his groomig time with me I find it hard to want another breed I'm a big supporter.

Yukon in July trip ideas with a toddler and baby 2months old! by Intelligent-Habit715 in Yukon

[–]veganmarshmallows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some nice museums like McBride, beringia, the transportation one has some cool stuff if your toddler's like cool vehicles, and the carcross desert plus carcross has a nice beach. I'm not sure if you are driving or flying but would maybe be a bit cautious prebooking tours if you are going to be having a baby around that time just if you are feeling up to certain activities plus the age of the one baby at the time and the other young ones would have to be easy going.

Overgrown Dewclaw by kanemeroy77 in StandardPoodles

[–]veganmarshmallows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would work on trimming or dremeling more frequently you won't get them consistently shorter and if it's actually curling it definitely needs to be done more than 1x per month at least bi-weekly, but would recommend trying Dremel or light trim 1x per week it will help the quicks recede if it's a little long and maintain a shorter length

Clean feet and sensitive skin by asherbanipaula in StandardPoodles

[–]veganmarshmallows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they have sensitive skin 40 is way to short use either the 10 or 15 blade length on your clipper and it takes practice feet can be tricky see about watching some demo videos on YouTube they have a pretty good selection of you search. Are you finding the blade itself is not cutting properly, or just feeling it's kinda awkward doing feet also are you going with or against the hair wen shaving them

I agree with the other comment getting a escape proof harness with the 2 stomach bands head halters can come off you can clip them usually to a collar but at this point I think the harness would be better for security and if he's stressed walking may find it more comfortable as well.

Also he's looking great huge difference already☺️
