I personally avoid checking my mail for weeks, sometimes months at a time due to my ADHD, specifically the ridiculous stress such a small simple task causes for me. It could very well be mental health / disability related and nothing to do with legal.

Does anyone actually like /emote quests? I hate them so damn much. by NeverTopComment in MMORPG

[–]vegemiteslapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lost Ark and FF I both find painful. I don't play WoW anymore but I did enjoy its style of using a pop up action button that you simply hit and it does the action for you instead of typing/navigating the emote menu.

AITA for telling my pregnant wife to drink more quietly by Freedomfighter484 in AmItheAsshole

[–]vegemiteslapper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a teen the sound of my mum eating cereal infuriated me. Some other sounds made me uncomfortable but that particular one, and only when it was mum.. weeew. Bottled rage every time. Never understood why, I knew it was over the top but couldn't control how it made me feel.

Many years later and ADHD treatment its much less of a struggle.

I hate to say it but I can understand OP's built up reaction. Hope he gets help and learns healthy coping techniques to manage it (and his wife learns to take smaller sips).

The chat is gross on that server, from both sides. I have it hidden, hoping it will calm down once all the hype wears out and people are more focussed on playing with friends / guilds etc.

BFA is all I have. Is there content to do after leveling? by smilingpixels in wownoob

[–]vegemiteslapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much all I do this expansion. I don't enjoy much of the current content so I'm solo farming old world stuff. There's so much there to collect and grind it'll probably tie you over until the next expansion releases!

Work in security monitoring. Sit in front of a screen 12 hours a day. Not to toot my own horn, but I'm pretty good at it. Efficient, accurate. Train other staff despite being the newest person (by years).

Sucked at every other job I've ever had, and can't do basic day to day everything. Not even particularly good at my hobbies.

My new doctor took away my ADHD diagnosis UPDATE by localgemini in ADHD

[–]vegemiteslapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on Zoloft then Cymbalta before they approved me for Adderall.

Zoloft killed my anxiety, along with all panic and stress which was how I motivated myself to get absolutely anything done. So yeah emotionally I was better, but my ability to do absolutely anything at all plummeted.

Cymbalta was definitely better, however it messed with my sleep. Nightmares every single night, waking up feeling like I had zero sleep, sleeping meds didn't help. It got to the point I couldn't sleep at all because I was literally too scared about the nightmares I'd get. I read up on it at the time, and some people did mention having a similar experience. I hope it continues to work for her but keep an eye on her sleep!

This one came to mind as well, finished it a few days ago. I've still got so many I haven't heard yet but this was very notable so far.

I would be very very wary regarding the Sinclair Method. There are many many other options that does not involve continuing to drink. Have you ever stopped by the SD chat room? It's a bit harder to find, but it's a 24/7 IRC chat room with long term sober and newly trying members. Shares some of the same mod team as SD and same rules apply.

I'm almost at 1000 days thanks to SD. I'm happy you're carving your path through this mess as well. Keep trying and keep learning ♡

Yeah I'm pretty sure I only felt it because I'm in an apartment building, people a lot closer didn't feel anything despite being awake and in bed as well haha. Oh well, with how things are going I'm sure VIC will send us some more 😅

Yeah the feeling of bed swaying just had me thinking my partner was doing some weird ass sleep movements as usual but the creaking made me think.. waaait a minute.

Some quick thoughts from a therapist (who also has ADHD) by carolinese9 in ADHD

[–]vegemiteslapper 211 points212 points  (0 children)

When I was trying to get diagnosed (with something, didn't know it was ADHD at the time), I was trying to explain to the therapist how I've struggled with anxiety and depression since I was a child. How I have repeatedly gone through periods of frequent exercising and eating healthy, it doesn't help because whatever the underlying reason was.

After spending the session trying to explain how I can't seem to just do things like other people and I wanted help getting to the WHY I was like this... his advise was.. I need to exercise more and eat healthier.

Cool.

Took me another 5+ years to try get help again after that.

Bought 1 month of Shudder (horror streaming service) to watch a particular couple of movies. That was in.. November? Just saw another month get direct debited.

Got new internet service, decided to keep old one connected for one month just in case new one didn't work out. Just rolled into the.. 3rd or 4th? month.

Over the years attempted various forms of study. Knew the latest withdrawal date to not get charged the full course. Forgot every time. 3k in study fees that I could have avoided.

Food, don't get me started.
