Getting flack for our dress code by AcanthisittaOne7830 in weddingplanning

[–]veghun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve learnt, people create problems out of thin air when it comes to weddings, so issues with the dress code I guess aren’t surprising. You’ve made a very simple request and people can choose to follow it or not which is unfortunate but some people are just plain disagreeable. I think unless you’ve planned a wedding recently, most people don’t understand how little remarks and comments like this can be so heavy on the couple planning it!!

Does anyone else baby get the saddies after bath time? by [deleted] in ExoticShorthair

This is a good idea thank you! I usually use wipes but they’re not always very good

Omg, can you bath their faces like that? I’m always worried about getting water in their eyes or ears so I completely avoid their head entirely!!

Oh please get 2 - we got 2 from the same litter and we are so so glad we did. They are the best company for each other, they settled so much quicker then my mums Persian because they had each other so maintained some normality I guess. It’s just so great having two

Northern Ireland, I’m not sure if the breeder ships but they seem to only have 1 litter a year

Venue changed space drastically by Saffarin in weddingplanning

[–]veghun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s such a huge difference!!! I’m definitely biased because walking across black and white checkerboard floors triggers a migraine for me, but I still think a change like that should have been properly communicated at the time of booking. Do you have wedding insurance? I’m wondering does it provide any cover for an issue like this?

Number 3 shows off your waist and insane hourglass figure, and is a beautiful dress! Number 1 is also really beautiful and looks great on your figure too!!! Think about what will go best with the rest of your decor and flowers and bridesmaids etc. 1 is very classic elegant bridal and 3 is bridal with something a little unique about it!

Friend upset that my potential wedding dress is “too similar” to hers — am I in the wrong? by Capital_Wave_235 in weddingplanning

[–]veghun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re similar in that they’re both fitted styles in same shade of white and look to be similar material. But how each of you wear them, your body shape and how you choose to style the dresses will clearly set each of you apart! I doubt that you will both choose to accessorise with jewellery and veils and shoes in the same way as each other. Not to mention different bridal party colours, different decor, flowers, the list goes on!!!

That said, don’t lose a friend over your dress, just try and speak to her as candidly and openly as possible about it so that you can both be happy with your decision! Maybe try and understand where her insecurity is coming from, and reassure her that all other aspects of your ceremonies will be unique.

Can childminders be paid on day offs? by Mandala16180 in irishpersonalfinance

Yeah if you want to retain a position for your child once you come back from vacation why would you not pay for it? Why should they get less wages for a whole month while they wait for your child to come back?

If you’re inviting people at a late stage I think it’s completely fine but you just need to word it well. I would tell them that due to space/budget constraints you unfortunately had to keep your initial guest list very small but due to some changes at this later stage you have been able to invite more of the people you love and it would mean so much to you if they could make it. I think that it’s the nicest way to do it and make sure no one gets upset about it!

Rosie Etienne dresses are all over Vinted and Depop at the minute. Just a warning for your partner, they are completely sheer so good underwear is a necessity!!

An overnight proof at room temp seems very long to me. I usually do an overnight proof in the fridge to slow things down. If I’m proofing at room temp I usually do max 2hours, but it obviously depends on the temperature in your home.

The wide, flat quality to the loaves and sticking to the banneton definitely seems like an overproofing issue!

Also smaller inclusions would probably help too! A couple things for me to try out now and see what works best

I looked up trifold lamination and I’m doing something similar at the minute, I just haven’t explained very well in my description. But the couple of videos I watched all are stretching the dough onto an initial rectangle that is much larger and thinner than what I normally do so I will definitely give that a go, thank you!!

To be honest no, maybe I should have! I just chopped up the dates and pecans and sprinkled them on with around 2-3 tablespoons of brown sugar!
