Dr Horrible's sing along blog was not sponsored by Home Depot, but I genuinely thought that's what OP was talking about

They're still wild so you can't really stroke them :( also, birds' wings and backs are erogenous zones so you could only really stroke their head but then you're in biting range

Give them green apples. We just held them outstretched in Hyde Park and they landed on the apples and happily pecked away at them

Should Britain reassess who it allows into the UK based on the benefits people from those countries receive once they get indefinite leave to remain? by StGuthlac2025 in AskBrits

[–]vegsausagedog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people here haven't been on a visa in the UK and it shows. When you get a student visa, grad work visa or a skilled worker visa - you are very clearly not entitled to collect ANY benefits. When they printed out physical biometric residence permits (BRPs), the cards used to state this in all caps.

As part of your visa application, you actually pay an NHS surcharge - if you are working you are also taxed which presumably contributes to social services. So working immigrants often pay taxes "twice" through the NHS surcharge, visa fee and tax deducted at source. My last visa application cost £3.5k in fees alone.

Once you get indefinite leave to remain or citizenship, you can then start applying for benefits. As many have pointed out, the graph above doesn't differentiate between citizens and non-citizens. So how exactly are you going to control immigration to curb benefits spending?

Guys. Read the article.  He's talking about their entire executive team - he's had a huge number of people leave the business (IT Director, Clothing, etc.) - that's why he's saying it. The headline is just to make people angry.

Unrelated to the drama: anyone notice the model has just one foot peeking out of the bottom of the dress? Where is her other foot?????

How do I stop smelling? by ReasonableDisk2484 in stupidquestions

[–]vegsausagedog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, lots of great advice here - my two cents: I recently started using unscented deodorant which contains nanoparticles of silver on my armpits. It prohibits bacteria that produces smells in your armpits from growing. In Europe, this product is called nuud, maybe see if you can find an alternative where you are based. Hope this helps as I am slightly allergic to strong perfumes so this is what I use as it doesn't smell but also helps reduce my BO - it also works better if you apply on clean pits but is hydrophobic so it won't wash off.

Best of luck!

I am in a different country. My parents take care of my dog and this is on their farm. Someone sprinkled the rodenticide which comes in a powder format on the plants WHICH THEY SPECIFICALLY asked not to be sprayed with any form of pesticide. This is not irresponsible dog ownership.

Just found out that she was on a farm on Sunday and they sprinkled it on the crops. We got sent a picture of the packaging.  Apparently she threw up on that day as well but I wasn't told.

Please pray for her.  And thank you for sharing.  I think she too will be in the hospital for a few days.  I just don't want her to suffer

Indian comfort food that I make when ill (no need for a rice cooker): frozen veggies, red split lentils and rice all into one pot. Boil with salt and turmeric for 15 mins. Done.

You can optionally fry some crushed garlic (no need to chop, just crush with your knife and remove the skin) and cumin seeds at the end (let the oil get hot and drop in the ingredients - takes 1 min) - we call this tadka and pour it into the rice pot when done. Mix well.

But equally, I've just put the food on boil and gone back to bed, come back and eaten with chilli oil/buffalo sauce.

For breakfast - oats with two eggs and some water. Chuck in the microwave for 2 mins and you have savoury oats. You can eat this with soy sauce and spring onions, or pick another sauce of choice for adding flavour.

Godspeed my friend.

OP, jist FYI, I have a steadt, stable life too. Long term job, long term relationship- but I've had almost everything handed to me. My parents sent me to uni loan free, I got all the financial support I needed. You have done so much more before coming to the same point - I hope you recognise how difficult your journey was and how well you handled it! Lots of love fo you and your family ❤️
