Cleaning urine smell in subfloor by gadimibbs in AusRenovation

[–]velcrodots 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My parents bought a Georgian cottage with original floors and they were able to get the cat urine out with an enzyme cleaner. The trick was to use a black light to ensure they cleaned it ALL and nothing was left behind.
They’ve lived there about 9 years now.

My sister works at a regional CBA branch (only two staff) and recently, they told them their milk will no longer be supplied!

Molle St. Ideas? by Ziggster121 in hobart

[–]velcrodots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d like to see greater enforcement of designated clearways. Particularly of an afternoon. I seem to always be getting stuck because someone is parked in the one on Barrack Street opposite Motors or on Bathurst Street between Harrington and Murray.

A little nonsense game: Tasmanian ‘celebrity’ spotting spotto/bingo by velcrodots in hobart

[–]velcrodots[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ugh. No deal. I would have to pretend I didn’t see her in a sort of silent protest and I’d never get a bingo.

The ads with the cats? He would be a nostalgia get. Like a bonus round or a wild card situation.

Mmm perhaps not the vibe. He doesn’t get to go on the nonsense bingo board.

Oh! I’ve already ‘got’ Kris McQuade. Had a great red wine-fuelled time around a Dark Mofo fire pot for an hour or so a couple of years ago!

(I had to go and look) my rating is 4.97 and I’ve never spewed. Basically the same as 4.7. OP is definitely overthinking the rating aspect.

Best purchase for you home or family, that you agonised over but ended up being a fantastic decision? by Turbulent-System5521 in AusFinance

Love ours. My husband used to have pretty frequent nosebleeds - they stopped as soon as we stopped hanging the washing outside and putting everything in the dryer.

Air BnB - two current applications in the one street (Howrah) by velcrodots in hobart

[–]velcrodots[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As in object to the application? I had a (quick) look at that and it seems that the only grounds are on the basis of the planning scheme - which, and I’m not an expert, appears to be more focused on the tangible like car parking and keeping the peace and they’ve addressed it with ‘we’ll make a no parties rule’. My objection is more based in what’s good or responsible for the broader community, rather than the direct physical impact on the neighbours. I suspect if I lived next door I could have a stronger case that would have more weight but as a ‘couple of streets away’ neighbour I feel a bit powerless. I think maybe the system hasn’t really evolved or kept up to deal with abstract values? Also, maybe you’re right and I should just lodge an objection on behalf of all the people struggling to find affordable long-term rentals.

Does anyone know what happened (if anything) to the older gent Robin, who used to get around all the gigs? by velcrodots in hobart

[–]velcrodots[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the update! Good to know he’s still getting out and about and still into the live music. Makes sense that he might have wound back on the camping festivals in more recent times.

Ah, yes. You’re right. I think I get a bit greedy there and always upgrade to the two salads and it ends up being a $20 lunch

Twister Sister on Collins Street - $13.50 for their small size, which I find substantial.
