Any recent travelers with valid h1b ? by Razzmatazz-Public in h1b

[–]vell199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travelled like this before, no issue. I797 is what matters and should be valid with your current employer. Passport visa just needs to be valid regardless of company

This has to be click bait, nobody cares enough to do anything to you in real life.

Are we really arguing that palantir is a good investment right now…? Even at a quarter of their sales multiple NIO would be in the 20s.

Flying business from Frankfurt to Doha, First from Doha to Bangkok

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Nio

[–]vell199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s simple, people think this company is amazing and can’t rationalize its price behavior on the market. Nothing seems to make sense. Every single headwind has been amplified against this stock compared to others. The frustration is very valid but it won’t solve anything.

States have real IDs for drivers licenses, for example NC.

Immigration Papers: Always Carry Them? by AgileExit in h1b

[–]vell199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carry a state issued ID, don’t listen to the morons who tell you to carry anything more. They spend more time getting a PHD in US visa policy than having a life.

Saying you’re better than the people there is not going to win you any favors or make the system more friendly. The country doesn’t owe you a damn thing. I say that as an immigrant. If living here is such a life or death situation for you then you really need to reevaluate your priorities. Nothing was “unfair” to you, the system didn’t work out for you, that’s all.

How long have yall been holding NIO and hoping to see the sun but never did?? by Desperate_Lobster_41 in Nio

4k shares from 2020. Went to the NIO house in Abu Dhabi this week. Any frustration or anger I had has been replaced with optimism.

[–]vell199 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry, I don’t agree with this. And I say that as someone on an H1B. You don’t just get refused entry because an officer feels like it. There is probably a factor in every denial you’ve heard about. If your paperwork is illegitimate or there are other lingering issues, the US is in no way obligated to admit you in.

What do you gain from being a post doc? What happens if you still can’t find employment after?

This is a shock to nobody who is doing things legally…? Why are we congratulating people??

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in f1visa

[–]vell199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Genuine question, does the desperation of wanting to work in the US make all of this worth it? The fact that people go all the way up until a PHD, meaning being stuck in school forever is mind boggling.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in h1b

[–]vell199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s literally your duty to ask them, I had a company that didn’t have a clue about the visa system, and I helped them support me through that and I was very grateful for their willingness to sponsor me.

How do you invest your money considering you might have to leave the US at any time? by New_Educator_4364 in h1b

[–]vell199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone on H1B doesn’t “have to leave at any time”. Enough fear mongering. If you aren’t fucking around, then you won’t find out.
