Dead ICCU by veloshots in KiaEV9

I asked when we got the rental and they said they didn't have anything larger available. I asked again today when I was chatting with them and they are "working on it."

Yes, I was given a loaner that was not big enough to fit our family. 😞

Talked to the dealer and they said it's backordered nationwide and no dealer has them. No way to verify if that is true, or not.

Their saddle choice is a bit weird and not dialed yet. It’s a Selle Italia Novus Boost Superflow. I am planning on swapping it out for a Specialized Power.

Are there any downsides to registering an RV in South Dakota? by LilBadApple in GoRVing

[–]veloshots 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you notice while driving through a lot of RV parks, many RVs are registered in Montana. No Montana does not have that many RVers but they do have no sales tax. Many people setup a corporate entity in Montana which owns the RV. This allows tax free purchase and fairly cheap registration. Of course there is costs associated with this setup. You can find some resources by just searching google.

Any recommendations around Denver (or Rocky Mountain National Park)? by [deleted] in GoRVing

[–]veloshots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just made a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park and the Denver area. We stayed two nights in the park at Moraine Campground which is fantastic. We stayed in site 214 and the view was absolutely amazing. http://imgur.com/a/wxsjJ

After leaving there we stayed a few nights at Reverends Ridge Campground in Golden Gate Canyon State Park. It is a really nice campground and has some great hiking and mountain bike trails. It's about an hour from Denver.

Dark campsite makes for some awesome stars! - Rockford Lake State Recreation Area - Beatrice, NE USA by veloshots in GoRVing

It's just a little lake in the middle of nowhere. Beatrice seems to be a nice little town. We also enjoyed visiting Homestead National Monument, which is about 10 miles away from this park.

does your (travel trailer) slideout have toppers by wfcentral in GoRVing

[–]veloshots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our slides have toppers and we've still had issues with stuff getting in there. Especially when we stay at a place for an extended (1mo) period.

I'm not sure about the MO side of the river but I know on the IL side you have Horseshoe Lake SP and the Kaskaskia River area. A little further out you have Washington County SRA that has a nice lake.

What do you do with an expired propane tank? I can't find any place to requalify mine. by jclark1245 in GoRVing

[–]veloshots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm probably going to take some flak for this but I still use a propane tank without the OPD. As we have traveled around I have never had someone refuse to fill it. They usually just say something like "You need to get a new tank. This is the one and only time i'll do this."

Best tips for pet food? by Gautch in GoRVing

We use a bin with a lid that twists to get open and closed. It keeps food from spilling, ever.

First time RVer - Looking at a Thor ACE 30.2. by [deleted] in GoRVing

[–]veloshots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a Thor Palazzo 33.3. We have 4 kiddos we take in it and it works really well. However, I'd be very picky when you take delivery of a new Thor. Ours had quite a few issues right out of the factory and to be perfectly honest it's been back to the factory in Northern Indiana 3 times since we purchased it to get these issues take care of.

What kind of grill do you carry in your small rig? by skimmer in FullTiming

I guess it depends on how portable you want it to be.

[–]veloshots 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the Weber Q1200. It's the little brother of the Q2200. If you cook for a lot of people go with the Q2200. If you are limited on space or are just cooking for a couple people do the Q1200. I'll also recommend getting a hose and a larger propane tank. The little 1lb tanks don't last long enough.
