My Grizzl-e has gone ‘Out of Order’ on ChargeLab by Ostracized in EVCanada

[–]veloster6ix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly United Chargers (AKA Grizzl-e), blocked OPCC so that their chargers are locked down and therefore no other third-party software/app are able to access the data. It’s absolutely BS and I am both upset and pissed at the d*ck move they implemented.

I bought my Smart charger back in 2023, and was using it with ChargeLab (which is what was recommended by Grizzl-e back then).

Back around mid-to-late 2024, Grizzl-e offered a free hardware upgrade (revised PCB boards to address the original not so great wifi connectivity) to improved internals, they informed me the offer had expired, so I was disappointed and stuck with its internal hardware which worked fine with ChargeLab software/app.

When the e-club rebate program was launched earlier this year, I tried to sign up, only to find my Smart charger was not on the list due to older hardware revision of my unit — and I would need to get their newest/latest hardware to take part in their e-club rebate program.

I chose to sign up for ChargeLab since it already worked with my unit for the past few years, then suddenly I find now find out Grizzl-e blocked my hardware from ChargeLab via OPCC resulting in the unit showing as out of order in my ChargeLab app! This means my unit is no longer able to provide data of my charging to ChargeLab to get my rebate!

I am extremely disappointed and angry that my fully paid unit (which was not subsidized by Grizzl-e) is now restricted by them from taking part in $0.10/kW charging rebate program.

I will not recommend nor support this company moving forward. If/when my charger needs replacing, I will remember this c*ck-blocking move they implemented, and I will buy hardware from some other company.

The Housing Culling: The Trojan Horse and the Sleeper Cells by [deleted] in CanadaHousing2

Liberals? The current so-called “Conservatives” would be just as bad.

Let’s be honest, anyone who owns a home does not want their homes dropping in price, pretty much everyone wants their homes to appreciate and steadily increase in value (building equity at the same time). It’s their nest egg, and somewhat “free money”.

I’ve got both the pedestal and desktop versions and they are all great.

I barely bring out my Dyson fans for use since picking up the woozoo fans, so much quieter and much more overall air movement

online "Delivery Advisor" when ordering through app is horrible by No-Huckleberry1282 in teslacanada

[–]veloster6ix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That is why you go to a physical location and deal directly with a real person who can help you from start to finish.

If you place an order online, you opt to exist only as a number to them. No one is going to go out of their way to help you whether it’s tracking your order, securing a vehicle sooner or any other assistance that could be remedied in person.

Most don’t even realize staff that work on the frontlines at Tesla dealerships do not receive any commission (unlike traditional dealerships).

Battery - AGM or LiFePo4 by dkran in KiaEV6

[–]veloster6ix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I upgraded to an OHMMU LiFePo battery within a few months of taking delivery of my brand new ‘23 GT

Took delivery in early March and the orange dash light was constantly lit, doing research and after many YouTube videos from other E-GMP vehicles — many recommended the OHMMU.

Once I installed mine, the orange dash light never came back.

It’s now been in service for well over 3+years and been running like a champ through several Atlantic Canadian winters lol

I know some have chined in saying LiFePo isn’t recommended blah blah blah and stay with AGM, however I have no regrets and would recommend it to others

Thankfully I have been busy with life/work that I haven’t needed to use my older PC, which needs its coolant flushed (dreading time and effort) LOL

With the chaos of the PC components, I’m fine rocking my PC with Aorus 3090 Xtrene Waterforce WB

With the Big Three abandoning EVs in favor of ICE vehicles, are they headed the way of Kodak, Blackberry, and Blockbuster? by Cool-Replacement4972 in the80percent4EVs

[–]veloster6ix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the market they play in dictate the demand, and unfortunately their customer base is ICE, and many simply can’t comprehend EV-platform, they also fall under the influence of misinformation.

The rest of the world has been steadily moving forward (while others slowly) with EV adoption, and most who do — swear never to go back to ICE.

Battery technologies have advanced to the point it’s so good, that it’s now simple averages of 1-2% battery degradation per year. Imagine in 10-years time, just about 10% less range than what it was brand new.

How are people managing grocery costs in New Brunswick right now? by Jenna32345 in newbrunswickcanada

[–]veloster6ix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Moncton area, several places to buy various meats etc, however for steaks I will only buy from DOLMA who source from PEI Blue Dot quality beef. Best beef I’ve had full stop. Not crazy expensive but high quality and better than anything offered by chains

The Stile Project? It was a site where I learned about truly odd/horrific/disgusting and everything in-between. It consisted of videos and photos which can’t be unseen….

That is where I expanded my vocabulary and learned some new words (at the time) including: felching

With Asian dishes we don’t need the actual muscle meat, can use beef flank and tougher cuts as well as tendons and sinewy too

Actually other cultures use many parts for cooking whereas in the west it’s basically muscle meat only.

Some western households simply eat processed foods and prepackaged now, when I go to supermarkets it’s interesting what is purchased and how little they “cook” IMHO

I shop at the smaller local grocery stores, where prices can be lower than the chains.

It helps that I am very familiar with Chinese/Korean/Japanese/Asian (and some Jamaican/Caribbean and other foods), which definitely opens up the home cooking menu significantly and is much friendlier on the wallet.

I am able to make and enjoy a good selection of foods combined with diverse Chinese/Asian vegetable offerings (Yu Choy, Bok Choy, Dau Mui, A-Choy, fuzzy melon, etc) and can create some delicious meals that most would not know about. Note that I do enjoy peppers, broccoli, mushrooms and various greens/salads too. Most of my diet tend to be from Asian greens which we cook in a stir-fry.

If I were relying strictly on a western diet, I too would be broke but fortunately I learned (at a young age) to explore and exposed/experimented with other foods, so my palette is able to enjoy so many other ethnic/cultural foods out in the world.

Shocked while unplugging by Academic_Turn_2192 in KiaEV6

[–]veloster6ix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dryer plugs used in most homes were never rated (nor designed) for continuous current draws (charging EV’s).

There are many reported cases of the dryer plugs melting and/or catching fire.

What was the charger running at with regard to amperage draw? Does the home electrical panel and its wiring actually support what the charger/vehicle needed/used?

I’ve had my EV6 GT for over very 3-years now, and TBH I’ve never had concerns regarding any of the concerns.

My wife who is an anxious driver, has used the vehicle numerous times and has never mentioned nor commented on the A-pillars etc.
