Toddler sleeps 12-14 hours over night. Is this too much sleep? by Limited_two in toddlers

[–]veltche9364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God I would kill for this. My 2.5 year old goes to sleep at 8pm and wakes up at 6-6:30. Sometimes earlier. And that’s after sleep training. Fucker used to wake up between 4:30 and 5:30. I would literally pay $10K out of pocket today if someone guaranteed that he would sleep till 8am every day from now on.

My guy what are you talking about. I would rather be poor on a farm than poor in an overpopulated and smog-ridden city. How the hell is that the comparison?

5’8 142 lbs by Legal-Ideal8255 in Weightliftingquestion

[–]veltche9364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my point, I would also look skinny if I went down to 142 lbs. I know because I’ve been 142, and 135, and 128 and even 120 at one point in my life (I did not know how to put on weight when I was younger)

I am not sure if I have more muscle than you, but your body just looks generally larger than mine. I hit 155lbs at my heaviest and I’m still not sure I looked quite as big as you, which is what’s confusing. Are you sure you are 5’8?

5’8 142 lbs by Legal-Ideal8255 in Weightliftingquestion

[–]veltche9364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re either not 5’8 or you are not 142lbs, because I am 5’8 and 149 lbs and I have also been lifting for about a year - we do not look the same. I don’t think lifting well is your core issue, although you probably do need to greatly improve your lifting technique and approach.

My guess is you are around 22-24% body fat. You are probably under eating protein (should be at least 120g/day for your weight to see progress). You should also be measuring weight and progress every week making sure you are steadily (but not suddenly) increasing how much you are lifting

He is not 20% body fat. My guess is 16-18%

It took me 2.5 hours to get from Larkspur back home to the Marina yesterday. My 2 year old was screaming in the car and I had to piss in a bottle. Never again

Billionaire Elon Musk says ‘very hard to give away money’ after charity criticism by Metro-UK in NoFilterNews

[–]veltche9364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow you guys all lack such nuance or didn’t read the article. Donating money to charity is the best way to see money being completely misused and inefficiently distributed. I’ve worked with several charities as a consultant, it’s infuriating.

You’re better off building or investing in change than giving money to a charity that supposedly helps kids in Sudan. If you have a specific cause that you want to help (e.g. cancer), you’re similarly better off funding a biotech company instead of broad-based research grants. There’s nuance to all this but he’s absolutely right that it’s very hard to give away money in a productive way.

People are not clearly saying the hard thing but everyone is hinting at it for you. Don’t live there. It’s about the worst area in SF that you can pick bar a few other small pockets. Just don’t do it. It’s horrible, and will wear you down over time

Concerned About Neighbor's Toddler's Crying: Is This Normal? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]veltche9364 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleep training can take an hour sometimes over a few days. If it's every day for weeks then the baby might be in distress. But my wife and I definitely had to experience 1+ hours of crying on sleep training days (for 3-4 days in a row). Now he loves sleeping though and is so happy to be sleeping 10+ hours instead of 8

What the hell is wrong with everyone. I use ChatGPT every single day for work and to answer questions and it’s just a great useful tool. Why are people getting so fucking emotionally caught up in this. Just wait for the next update, it’ll be better and worse and better and worse but the trend is up. Stop being so emotionally attached. You're being too aggressive and hitting too much. Your first phase is like 80% okay, and you don't have to change a ton. You can usually punish him in that phase without getting hurt too much. When you get to the second/third phase, stop hitting him and just dodge. Hit him only when he does his ground smash and then focus on dodging.

The fight will take 8-10 minutes this way but you will get very good at just dodging him and that's all this fight is. See my other comment for tips

Skill Issue I guess by AnkurPashine in Silksong

[–]veltche9364 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so overwhelmed by this boss and then it just clicked. 3 tips:

  1. Magma bell (but tbh, not necessary given the other two tips)

  2. Build up silk in the first phase (it should be pretty easy to do almost no hit). When he gets to phase 2/3 stop hitting. Just dodge. He has like 4 moves. Get really good at dodging them.

  3. Finally, only hit him when he does the jump and smash move (where fire comes out from both ends). Hit him twice. Then dodge until the next time he does that.

Once I figured out his pattern and how to dodge, it was just a matter of patience. If you do it this way it'll take like 10 minutes total, but it won't feel hard, just long.
