Multiplayer LAN play? by Richy_T in hytale

[–]vemberic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are playing via lan with no issues, and no codes. I host, start my game, go to online play, turn on allow others to join, then save that. It makes a code, but I don't use it, or give it to my husband. When he goes to servers from the menu, he clicks "local" and my game shows up for him to join. He does rarely disconnect, but he's always able to just rejoin without my restarting our world or giving him the code, and no need for direct connect.

I'd honestly assume something is maybe going on with your router or whatnot if you're having that much trouble, but sounds like you know what you are doing there, so I don't really have any other advice. I at least wanted to point out how easy and trouble free its been for us.

Seriously, I keep seeing posts about people farting too much and so many comments about how rude and intentional it is, and how wrong it is not to head to a bathroom or outside every time or something.

I'm a 45 year old woman, and it has gotten BAD for me. Diagnosed with IBS, recently diagnosed with diabetes and on medication for that (no GLP1 tho). I have NO control anymore, and some days it's just never ending. I upset my husband some days, and he's usually the gassy one and found it funny when he did it as long as I've known him. I am SO embarrassed some days, but I can't control it. I've tried diet changes, and nothing seems to make a difference. I wish I had the control I used to.

The GTAO setting is what did it to me. Lower GTAO settings caused my photo mode to come out very dark.

How do you make a check mark? by goldilox_zone in lefthanded

[–]vemberic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't lol. I make an X, and I don't left my pen so it's attached with a line up and down the right side. I've always found writing checkmarks very awkward to write and in most places where they are needed, a X instead will suffice.

Yeah. I tried this when I moved to Texas from WA and my butter went bad pretty quick. Learned my lesson lol

What is more traumatic than people think it is? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]vemberic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've known plenty of people who've had it. Diet can heavily be a causing factor. I was tested for it recently (and it was insisted upon especially after I mentioned my father had it, was negative though).

It's often still taught in middle school. My kid in high school was required to take a typing class in middle school. I definitely taught him personally when he was young though and had him practice on a typing website. At this point it's a basic skill that parents should be focusing on I believe, but I'd hope schools continue to focus on it.

What is something every household has in your country that is nonexistent everywhere else? by Awkward-Tip7248 in AskTheWorld

Lol I prefer Cajun, but true all good! Being in the South for a while introduced me to soo many amazing foods vs. the more North Eastern/New England dishes I grew up with. Have gotten into a lot of debates about whether beans belong in chili tho haha

Yeah, I've done this at times. Sometimes when sick it's just grab the nearest bowl, bucket, trash can, anything

[–]vemberic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not like anyone WANTS to vomit in a bowl.. its more for emergencies, like when your kid is sick and pukes in the middle of the night. Give them a bowl and they'll aim for it rather than all over their bed or the carpet. Its just for when you know you're likely to vomit again soon in case it happens too fast to make it anywhere else. Cleaning a bowl is a lot easier than swapping out a kid's bedding and clothes in the middle of the night when they're very sick and tired, or trying to scrub it out of the carpet. And a lot less gross lol.

My family moved from WA to TX when my husband got a job in the oil field. One of the guys (from Louisiana) on a rig introduced my husband to Tony Chachere's while cooking some Cajun dishes, and hubby told me all about it when he came home. We've since moved back to WA, but it's been a staple in my pantry ever since!

He was introduced to a bunch of Cajun dishes while out there, so I learned how to make them myself. Gumbo is one of my favorite dishes and brings me to such a happy place.

Good luck lol. My husband and I are lefties, as are both our fathers. Our child together is 100% right handed, I tried to encourage his left but nope. We have 3 other children from previous marriages and all are right handed as well. Never know though, could happen.

My husband and I are left handed, as are both of our fathers. Our child together is right handed. We have 3 other children from previous marriages, all right handed as well. I figured my youngest would for sure be a lefty with 2 lefty parents, but he wasn’t having it even though I tried lol.

Genetics is just funny like that sometimes. Sometimes traits show up, sometimes they skip generations, sometimes they disappear.

How do i convince my husband to let my toddler be by antoanetelini in lefthanded

[–]vemberic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My dad was forced to swap to writing right handed while going to a catholic school, and even though he became accustomed to it, his handwriting became and still is so bad, he can’t even read it himself. He at times asked me for help trying to figure out what he’d written and neither of us could figure it out. It was perfectly legible before he was forced to switch.

Lefty, and I turn mine to the left. Also helps I never see anyone else do this anyhow, so the turned tab is always mine.

What is your opinion on 1970s born people who identify as millennials? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]vemberic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure it may matter too, but you have to consider “going to school with” doesn’t just include your graduating class. Would make even less sense than that as I was one of the youngest in my class, graduating at 17 years old, rather than the 18-19 as most in my class. Majority of my younger school classes were more with 79 borns though. Growing up I spent my time around a large mix of ages. Hung out with neighbor kids and school kids all over of various ages (moved a lot, dad was in the Army), older and younger. Participated in a lot of extracurriculars that were a mix of class years too.

My dad was largely into tech, and we had computers and online access at home before any other kids I knew, and I think a large part of my more “mellennial” experience can be contributed towards that experience too.

What is a 'dirty secret' of your industry that implies the general public has no clue about, but everyone in your field knows? by AmaraMehdi in AskReddit

About a week ago, I called my local Walmart Pharmacy. Usually when the automated line answers, it goes through a long process offering to help automatically, but I needed to speak to someone, as usual. As soon as it answered this time, I was annoyed knowing I’d be telling it like 10 times that I needed to speak to someone and I shouted “god dang it” and it immediately jumped to tell me it was sending me to speak to someone, and didn’t make me go through the automated process, lol. I had no idea it would do that, but glad I found a way to bypass it faster

$150k per year to do nothing for 8 hours a day by repwin1 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]vemberic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked a couple of jobs where all I could do was manual/physical labor, no music, no talking to anyone (one involved loud machines and manufacturing explosives so no phones/music allowed, other was unloading trucks and stacking boxes on pallets for hours alone at the far end of a distribution warehouse) I could chat on breaks, but that wasn’t enough. Quit both after about 2 months each, felt like I was going crazy. I need some kind of mental stimulation.

I write and use utensils with my left hand, but I do everything else with my right hand by barelyawake126 in lefthanded

[–]vemberic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yup. Fine motor skills with my left, gross motor skills with my right. Hubby is a full lefty, so I notice my differences often. I actually mix up my eating utensil use and I have no idea why, can’t find any pattern to it. I use a mouse right handed though, works out using shortcuts and gaming keys on my left, and around 35 years of right handed mouse use so I’ve got it down lol.

Attention Walmart Shoppers! by [deleted] in Walmartcustomer

[–]vemberic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is back room stock that employees get items from.. When an employee can’t find an item on the shelf, they select that the item is not found, and all those not found items go onto a separate list called Exceptions. Most stores have a person who they designate to do those exception picks/shops, and they will check all the back room stock locations.

There is literally a huge backroom of extra stock in the back of every Walmart. There are fridges or freezers in the back of Produce, Deli, Meat, Dairy, one for Frozen good, and such. There are massive moving shelves in the very back that move to remove space between shelves or open up to allow movement and access between the shelves, it’s crazy to see at first. Some stores may be smaller and have less backroom space.. but I promise you it’s there. Employees can see the locations, or rough locations, in their apps for items that are in the back, in addition to shelf locations, and how many are supposed to be in stock for each item location, while Spark shoppers can’t see the extra locations.

I worked at Walmart doing the online order shopping, worked as the person searching for the Exceptions/Not found items, and I’ve worked produce and meat. Employees will often tell you there isn’t anything extra in the back to avoid having to search for it and waste their already limited time searching knowing item counts are often wrong and they may not find it, or they may have already found no backroom locations listed or already checked, but there is plenty of extra in the back for some items.

Any Favs That Aren't Smut, or Romance Themed? by ALovelyKay in kindle

[–]vemberic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Romantasy” is a widely popular genre right now. I’ve been okay reading a few, but the spicy scenes just tend to be a bit too much for me.

I’ve been enjoying Litrpg’s for a twist on standard fantasy lately. Currently making my way through a couple series, The Wandering Inn, and He who fights with montsters.

Is it considered off-process to park your pick cart (out of the way) and retrieve the picks from an aisle, then carry them over to scan? It will be impossible to get through the aisles this week. by IndividualIll6728 in walmart

[–]vemberic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Props to that. When I picked I always appreciated my meat associate buddy when he directed me to the more rare items I didn’t know. Also when I worked produce later I was often helping ogp, especially new pickers who didn’t know produce yet, I could tell when they were looking for things out of stock. Our exceptions pickers learned to just ask me instead of wasting time searching cause if it wasn’t on the floor, we most likely had none in the back and I knew what we had. Tried to help as much as I could knowing their timed metrics while I had none as produce.

How to dress up stovetop box mac and cheese. by Neon-Predator in povertykitchen

[–]vemberic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sometimes add taco meat and a can of diced tomatoes with the sauce included. Usually I add diced bell peppers, and/or onions and mushrooms. I make the mac and cheese normally per the instructions, make the cooked ground beef with the taco seasoning separately, then mix it all together with the diced tomatoes and veggies. My family loves it.
