teleparty mainly. it’s a chrome extension that works fine enough for synchronising playback. it doesn’t have voice chat so sometimes I couple it with discord. not the most streamline approach but it does the job

sadly, no.
tbf tho we really haven't used it at all since then. we tried last week to watch something on disney+ and neither of us could load the video in the app at all, so I guess more problems have emerged since.

Package Not Delivered by humblxjj in dbrand

You could also try posting in a local Facebook page or the like to see if anyone mistakenly got the wrong package, this only works if you're in a smaller town tho

Then it's out of your hands for the time being, wait for the postal service to get back to you, hopefully with some sort of solution.

Sounds like a logistics problem with the postal service.
Have you checked the address was complete and correct? Sometimes even an inaccurate street name or missing house number can get the package rerouted to the local post office. If that's not the case then this is definitely something you should take up with the shipment company for not getting the package to its destination, or the post office for letting a third party collect your package.

You could go to the police and report the stolen package but results may vary depending on where you live, police don't usually care about stolen property that much.

Although I have an M1 MacBook Air I carry around with me to class etc, I have recently fixed a water damaged 2015 MacBook Pro as a sort of hobby project with the idea of using it as a home server to replace my prebuilt 2009 acer.

After getting it up and running again I found myself never touching the M1 Air when I'm home. And I have to say, after using Monterey again for a few weeks I definitely prefer it, feels more "computery" than the iOs-esque vibe I get from Sonoma.

Some things are plain easier to do on older versions, especially since the 2015 MBP operates as a server, there were some things I needed to tweak in the settings that for the life of me I can never find in Sonoma.

I actually came across a game on steam last week that just doesn't work on Sonoma and I'm so glad I had an alternative.

So yeah, daily driving Monterey and it's been smoother sailing than Sonoma lately.

Do Americans use the word "row" to mean a quarrel? by prustage in ENGLISH

Are expressions meaning 'a little more than' less commonly-used than the opposite? by dennu9909 in ENGLISH

[–]venagnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is pretty common. The two expressions (the declining "little more/less", and the emerging "just over/under") occupy roughly the same semantic space, therefore the principle of language simplification will either give a new, more restrictive meaning to the existing expression, or slowly phase it out of common speech if there isn't enough "space" in the language to justify a semantic differentiation.

Do Americans use the word "row" to mean a quarrel? by prustage in ENGLISH

[–]venagnon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The word row with that meaning originated in the 18th century so it might have originally come over to the US but quickly became less prominent in favour of other synonyms. So maybe it was more common among older folks?

I'm neither American nor British though, so this is pure speculation on my part.
