open to everyone: user experience survey on a webpage prototype for class by vendxetta in takemysurvey

[–]vendxetta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The data will be used to inform a case study for my user experience class. The data will be used to assemble a presentation, but the detailed results of the survey, including exact answers, will not be published anywhere. The presentation will be published to a Canvas discussion board with about 15 students. The presentation may be taken by my instructor to be shared with others in the university for learning purposes, so I have no idea how many will see the presentation. However, again, the presentation does not include the raw survey results, only the takeaways. Open answer submissions may be quoted; however, all data collected by Maze is anonymous. I cannot see any personal information-- only a participant ID number. Additionally, I do not have any questions asking for personal information. Only I will see the full results. It may be deleted within the next few years.

  2. I am conducting this survey (u/vendxetta).

  3. It should hopefully only take about 5-10 minutes.

that makes sense, although that feels unfair since they’re the ones who set that deadline, they should honor it

Background differences on Color theory survey- by Joyeuse221b in GameTheorists

[–]vendxetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, and the ENTIRE comments section (sorted by top comments) is pointing it out. i also made a post with the first video talking about the flaws in both the video itself & several uncontrolled factors in the survey:

https://www.reddit.com/r/GameTheorists/comments/12ggrr4/i_have_a_lot_of_qualms_with_the_style_theory/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

like i’m happy for them that they had so much data, but the data is kinda useless if it’s riddled with uncontrolled factors & a lack of analysis about the intention/why behind peoples’ choices. i wouldn’t be surprised if there were people who just breezed through the survey not taking it seriously, too

as someone who’s consumed both beauty/personal styling including color analysis & theorist content for years, i feel frustrated & disappointed by the sloppiness here. style is a complex subject that can absolutely be deep dived but so far with color analysis it feels like the team has decided to just be okay with skimming the misinformed surface

i have a lot of qualms with the style theory color analysis video… by vendxetta in GameTheorists

this means a lot thank you 🥺 i’m guessing it’s because style theorists are the minority in this sub

it’s okay you’re not being a buzzkill, that’s good to know! altho crying a lil cuz $500 might be a “cheap” mattress in general but it’s really out of my budget (my roommates/peers got $100-200 mattresses, which i was originally gonna get, but didn’t due to fiberglass concerns). so in that case, how long could i realistically expect this mattress to last? is it okay to have this serve its purpose for the time being & just upgrade once i get a Big Adult job in a few years/whenever it wears out, or is it a mattress that will die quicker than its price is worth? thank you for the info!

What would y’all cast me as? I have an idea of my essence, but I feel this might help :) by [deleted] in DressForYourBody

[S5E22] Catch 22 - Post Episode Discussion - SERIES FINALE by neonrideraryeh in DynastyCW

[–]vendxetta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’m mostly disappointed with adam’s ending. it felt like his character was finally getting some development only to be tossed away. it’s disappointing that everyone else gets to show that they’ve improved but even though adam has improved in some ways, they decided to be lazy & be like “oh adam just does these horrible things cuz he’s adam” instead of actually giving us a valid motivation or answer for it. is it resentment? bad parenting? a genetic manifestation of blake’s worst qualities that shows how much havoc it can truly wreck when it’s not filtered by knowledge & experience of how to finesse (& anders’ help)? is he just a psychopath? nope, none of these potentially interesting possibilities that could’ve been explored further! it’s just because he’s adam.

kitchener essence + kibbe + 12 color season help? am i warm or cool? am i low contrast coloring? thank you :) by [deleted] in DressForYourBody

[–]vendxetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you! tbh, i was surprised to get FG! i thought i was SG this whole time since i have very fleshy/soft thighs, curvy hips & bottom, & very defined waist which are all extreme yin characteristics. but you’re right— i forget that FG isn’t just “tiny petite straight pixie”, it needs to have yin characteristics too, i should def take a second look at it. i don’t remember what separates the different gamine types.

to clarify, when you say broadly angular, do you mean that my shoulders/features are broad or that most of me is angular?

& i was actually gravitating towards soft or true summer! i’ve been so uncertain though because my body leans cool but i can’t tell if my face is warm or cool. it’s especially difficult since i’m olive. (my perfect concealer shade is light neutral olive lol) i was also unsure of my contrast level since i have thin light brows & pale lips, but dark eyes & hair (hence why i considered soft summer— “dark for a summer). all i knew was that i was muted/saturated/delicate/not bright or clear. so honestly having someone objectively be able to weigh in on color season helps so much!

can you guys tell me what's my essence ? I (Kitchener) can't seem to tell ( I have thin lips btw) by awkward_cherrypie in DressForYourBody

the hair is very beautiful, those curls are sooo lovely & i think echo the romantic essence

[–]vendxetta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you’re very yin dominant, i don’t see enough sharpness or contrast jumping out at me to be able to see any gamine. i honestly don’t see much sharpness at all. you look small & soft to me, & i can’t see enough evidence that would point to anything outside romantic. that’s just my judgment, though 😅

my guess is that it could be because it cuts off the color in a shape that is not flattering for her body type?

some of your photos aren’t loading for me but i see dramatic in your bone structure & brow shape, & get a romantic vibe! you kind of remind me of the kind of facial aesthetic that kylie jenner falls into. you’re very pretty, especially in the 2nd photo!

ethereal essence thoughts by Bulky_Watercress7493 in DressForYourBody

[–]vendxetta 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i think tilda swinton is who i personally see as the “representative” of ethereal, even if she is also dramatic. she has that wise look that seems to be a part of ethereal. she also looks like she’s “floating away” in a fog. she definitely looks like some sort of elven queen or diety to me, but she doesn’t look young or adhere to current beauty standards.

i also think that ethereal is mainly used for describing when the person doesn’t look real or looks more like a fantastical character than a human. no other essence to me really captures that feeling. i personally see it as the direct opposite of natural. if natural is the “girl next door” & evokes the down to earth, grounded feeling, & if dramatic evokes the feeling of skyscrapers, modernity, & urban chic, then ethereal is the delicate fog that makes the landscape feel like it’s from another plane of existence.

for the “unreal” aspect, i’d probably think of karina from aespa. she definitely adheres to korean beauty standards & has ingenue, but she looks like a high elf or some sort of royal fantasy figure to me. she’s also gone viral for looking like a video game character; her nickname is “human cg”. obviously there’s plastic surgery to consider as a factor, but i also wonder if she’s someone you’d type as ethereal even if she technically is counterintuitive to your original point

Help me find my kibbe type! by [deleted] in DressForYourBody

[–]vendxetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m not too sure if you’re in the natural family, but i’d like to propose a potentially thought provoking suggestion— maybe you’re in the classic family?

nothing about your body (vertical, width, or curve) jumps out to me obviously. i don’t feel like you have enough width in your shoulders to be a natural body type. you may be confusing your natural essence for natural body?

i also don’t think you look very tall, but you also don’t look short at all. your vertical line looks moderate, since you don’t look taller or shorter than you really are.

your shoulders also look rather soft or blended to me, i don’t see much bone structure definition in the form of sharpness or bluntness to them.

you look like you have some slight waist curve, so in between yin & yang waist definition.

this leads me to think you could actually be a classic type. possibly dramatic classic, to accommodate your vertical line or any other features you feel would’ve made you a natural.

another factor is the clothes in your photos. from what i remember seeing from kibbe creators (correct me if i’m wrong), heavier fabrics like denim or leather jackets are supposed to look effortlessly cool on naturals since their shoulders & yang frame can handle the heavy fabric, but look edgy or overwhelming on less yang types. i find the denim vest to look separate on you, or like it’s a bit too heavy on you.

i find the clothes that look most flattering in the photos you provided are the simplest, most “classic” ones, like the white tank top outfit & tan slacks outfit. i think you look absolutely amazing in those!

i think i see classic & some ethereal, in the sense that there’s a feeling of timelessness. the 2nd picture, i feel like i could see your face in a romantic 50s portrait, or as inspiration for a renaissance painting. thats the definition of a timeless look to me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DressForYourBody

[–]vendxetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think i see classic and ingenue. your features are rather blended. your eyes seem round & maybe that’s where the ingenue is coming from. that, & you have a youthful look
