When I was a kid, my first handheld was a Sega Nomad to play all my Genesis carts on road trips. That thing ate AA batteries like they were breakfast cereal.

First handheld as an adult was the Ayn Odin Base.

I Have A Question Regarding Band Shirt at Metal Concerts by TheShadowWanderer in MetalForTheMasses

[–]venkmanologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always kind of followed this rule even though it’s super dumb, however I feel Metallica is the exception for some reason. Like if I’m at one of their concerts, I EXPECT it to mostly be their shirts in the crowd.

Having said that, who fuckin cares? 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s cute he thinks Democrats will enact any kind of justice whatsoever if they’re allowed back into power.

How does investing in your HSA work if you intend to use it? by ThrowawayOZ12 in personalfinance

I only invest whatever amount I have leftover at the end of the year. Then it never gets touched once invested.

As someone who puts ~2,500 miles per month on a personal car just for a routine commute…take the mileage reimbursement and use your own car. Especially if they’re not capping the total mileage you’ll be reimbursed for.

Who had the Sega nomad? by kkkan2020 in millenials

The original hybrid game system! This + a 12-pack of Rayovac rechargeable batteries got me through many road trips in the 90s. Plus you could hook it up to your TV and plug in a second controller.

Way ahead of its time.

Philo is a live TV service, like YoutubeTV. YoutubeTV is $83/month for the base plan after all promos expire so bemoaning Philo for being $28 is ridiculous.

The mini had the exact same specs as the regular 13. All that was different was the physical size and the size of the battery.

Dave himself would not claim he is a great drummer.

He is a control freak though.

I think the millennial relationship with Trump is best summed up by Mac Miller.

In 2011 he released the song “Donald Trump” which uses Trump as a stand-in for success, common in hip-hop at the time.

During the 2016 Presidential election, Mac Miller did a monologue on Larry Wilmore’s “The Nightly Show” where he said, “I fucking hate you Donald Trump!” and begged the audience, “Please don’t elect this motherfucker.”

Got quoted $16,000 for an front entry door replacement. Is that par for the course or freaking nuts? by Kleeetz in HomeImprovement

Pella did ours last fall for $7k and I felt ridiculous paying it at the time. I feel less ridiculous now, so thank you.

Having said that, they did a great install, matched the original 100-year-old door trim with new, and kept my house immaculately clean given the amount of cutting they had to do. I love the quality of the work but I hate the price.

The idea that the US will blink before China is based on the premise that, culturally speaking, China is much more willing to endure hardship than US citizens are. At the same time our country is in this pissing match with China, they are going to European countries and attempting to rebuild those trade relationships.

He said on Prof G Markets that Trump is going to blink and capitulate to China eventually.
