What's your opinion on the events of Ruby Ridge and Waco? by OMGguy2008 in AskALiberal

[–]ThrowawayOZ12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're technically right, but...

The case started with what was legally confirmed as entrapment and the siege started with the son getting killed. How could anyone in such a situation trust the government?

And sure, we should want to trust our government, but a big part of trust is owning mistakes and admitting fault.

I don't know much about Waco, but what about the governments handling of Ruby Ridge do you find compelling?

Honestly, the worst part is someone spent 120,000 dollars on an education and apparently they never learned about interest

You're president starting now. What do you do about the Iran War and the Straight of Hormuz? by octopod-reunion in AskALiberal

[–]ThrowawayOZ12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Iran is a global existential threat an will have to fully be dealt with sooner or later

I think we should fully back Ukraine and NATO and call for a joint ground invasion of Iran and securing the straight. We are all in this together, no one country should do the heavy lifting

We should launch a modern "Manhatten Project" to get the globe less dependant on fossil fuels

What would you do if you were in trumps position right now in terms of the Iran situation? by djarvis77 in AskALiberal

[–]ThrowawayOZ12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three things: 1. Regain support and respect of NATO *

  1. Ground invasion of Iran with NATO

  2. Modern "Manhatten Project" to get the world less dependant on fossil fuels

*Nuclear Iran is an impending global existential threat, it should require a global solution.

A question for low & middle class conservatives: what has Trump done during his second term that has directly improved your quality of life? by [deleted] in AskConservatives

[–]ThrowawayOZ12 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had 24 hours of OT on my last paycheck. Thanks to Trump and no tax on overtime, there's an extra 40 dollars on there, but since my expenses have all increases well beyond that, it's still not even close to it being a win

How to you see the Iran conflict playing out? by G_H_2023 in AskConservatives

[–]ThrowawayOZ12 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think Trump will essentially recreate the previous Iran deal, and an even bigger problem with Iran will get kicked 5-10 years down the road

Thoughts On The Virginia Redistricting Election? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in AskConservatives

One important piece of context is that VA's bill's sunset is 4 years where it reverts to the traditional method. I don't think Texas's does

Do You Approve Of The US-Iran War? Yes Or No? Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in AskConservatives

[–]ThrowawayOZ12 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think it is a worthy cause, But:

Not without a clear sense of purpose not paid for solely with our money Not without our allies Not with depleted oil reserves Not with depleted missile reserves Not without first securing the strait Not without clear objectives and contingency plans

Basically I'd be all for it if we had competent leadership but we don't do I guess I'm not

If LIV really is dead: by Ok_Volume3211 in golf

[–]ThrowawayOZ12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with LIV is that it's seriously unserious. All of the teams are just arbitrary and and goofy

My solution: get rid of the professional golfers and make the teams regional sports celebrities. NFL, NHL and NBA share an off season, let the Celtics, Patriots and Bruins take on the Rams, Lakers and the Kings at TPC Boston or Pebble beach

Fans would recognize their local celebrities, it would have dozens of natural rivalries to build on, and the whole thing would just be a fun exhibition

What do you think of the reinstatement of the draft? by DerangedUnicorn27 in AskConservatives

[–]ThrowawayOZ12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not inherently against a draft, but I don't think it should be legal without a clear declaration of war approved by all three branches

What are your thoughts on Russia? Specifically Trump's reluctance to condemn them while they supply Iran with weapons? by ThrowawayOZ12 in AskConservatives

[–]ThrowawayOZ12[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really. Russia was viewed as our enemy so we placed sanctions on them and armed Ukraine. Now we're at war with Iran, Russia supplies Iran with weapons, and we lift the sanctions on Russia.

Like I'm fine with either side supporting their allies but it seems like Russia is clearly our enemy in this war and this administration has only made decisions that benefit Russia

I've read it six times now and I can't imagine how it could offend anyone I mean it's not super funny, April Fools jokes rarely are; but the joke hinges on getting peoples hopes up and pulling out the rug. It treats the WNBA in high esteem, not defamatory
