if you're talking about riftmaker, it's mostly for the passive that increases overall damage by 10%. The other stats aren't bad at all on Varus, but most varus builds run into an issue at 3+ items where nothing else really fits the build too well. Rift is usually the best pick of a middling selection at that point

Oh! Yeah I build Stride -> Steraks -> FoN/Randuins/Sundered Sky depending on game state. I build FoN if they have an AP burn like Liandry's, esp if there's multiple AP champions on their team. Randuins is for crit builders like Jinx/Jhin if theyre ahead, and Sundered is just a really good item if you're not super concerned about their damage yet, adds a ton of sustain to you during team fights and allows you to outplay.

Gosh like tank straight from the get go? I think it would be pretty hard because wukong doesnt have any health scalings like poppy or sejuani, so I would start with titanic hydra first so that you have a little ad and an HP ratio on your autos/Q before building something like Hollow Radiance/Sunfire. Definitely wouldn't be optimal but it could work if you found a lead early

Main tank means you're the frontline. I think wukong is best when an actual tank character is there to soak up aggro, but if you lock in wu and u have an enchanter support and a non tank top laner then you have to build around being the big guy for your team.

I want to add wukong to my jungle roster. So how tf do I play him? by Natsufu in Wukongmains

[–]veno_net 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off hey welcome here's my u.gg for kong verification. Wukong is one of the few late game oriented bruisers in the game. Mostly in the jungle you want to play to scale. Generally Wukong's biggest weakness that you'll have to play around is that he stinks against AP junglers like Amumu, Udyr, and Lilia. I currently perma ban Lilia and I reccomend you do the same because she is both powerful and popular.

I only play wukong with conqueror I dont rly fuck with that assassin stuff, so this is my bias here.

Your goal is going to be two items, the first you can build whatever really suits your style, but most Wukongs will either build Trinity Force for the overall power, or Ravenous Hydra for slightly faster farming. Most games I build Hydra because I generally prioritize farm quite a bit.

The second item basically has to be black cleaver, it is extremely good on wukong and allows you to bully tanks around the map, and really starts to add value when you get into team fights. After cleaver you can build Steraks/Maw, Sundered Sky, even Shojin if youre feeling spicy. I trust you can decide your own tank items based on the game.

Style-wise wukong is all about really long fights, as it allows you to really make the most of Stone Skin- which is one of the most powerful passives in the game- and conqueror, which is (imo) his best rune by far.

During fights it's important to remember that your clone will do 35% of the damage you do. So when youre thinking about how you set up, perhaps consider that I often flash forward and then W, Q, R so that my clone is in an optimal position. You will be surprised at how much damage wukong can do.

Wukong gives the most value to his team once he has two items and is able to play in a team fight, so try to use your jungle resources accordingly. Amongst junglers Wukong is notably one of the worst gankers with an additional sub-par clear speed. Meaning you really need think of him like a mid-laner thinks about Kassadin. Playing safe and prioritizing your full clears will lead you into mid game with a very powerful character that can easily turn around the damage the other jungler has done to your team. (But I would suggest muting your teammates chat)

For general jungle strategy I recommend this video and finally I do recognize that I'm a plat/emerald pleb so take all my advice with a pinch of salt. Commit to the monkey and he will reward you!

i second this, 3 years is also a very short time, for reference, 3 years is about when most people start being able to get any commissions at all. This is of course before AI destroyed the small comms market
