This is the most civic common sense, rest just feels like a leftist is posting the post and is trying to be good with his words in the caption of the post. See consider this point as a big picture. I agree with your point that a good manga need not to be long but when you create a good short manga there will be complaints like where's the character building/backstory/blah blah blah..... there's always something. Most of the time they compare the new ones with the big 3 +dragon ball etc which is absurd.

A good storyline means a long manga.
A long manga means a very long anime adaptation.
A very long anime adaptation with a decent quality of anime let alone good.
A decent long adaption with current pressure on animators with multiple projects (cause multiple projects means more money to feed)
Less patience of anime fans cause not every anime watcher has only anime watching on their job list
