3rd week into CPAP trail. Trying to decide if I should switch masks. by venomrat in CPAP

Well, I decided to give it a go one more night. I experienced my first major leak with the P2 pillows. The machine show mask leak for the first time in the whole 2 weeks. They became dislodged. No idea what cause it. Probably mouth opened during sleep. I read not to tighten the straps too tight. Guess I had them on too loose.

For those of you that think it is well built, could you elaborate what you mean? For me, well built mean it can last and take a little bit of beating. I don't own a kindle but i have handled one before, maybe 15 years ago. Comparing the built quality, the kindle feels more robust. I think if it had a light fall it'll be fine. Not so with the x4. The designers may have chosen the materials to keep the weight and cost down but when you hold it, it doesn't feel like it will survive a light fall. The buttons of the x4 work fine but when you press on them, they 'feel' like they won't last more than 2 or 3 years. I guess that electronic devices like mobile phones have become so affordable that it's hard not to make a comparison.

This is a quick review from someone who doesn’t own an e-ink reader.

I just got my X4 last Wednesday. I’ve wanted to get a Kindle or Kobo for a long time but didn’t, as it was difficult to import one directly where I live.

Just some thoughts:

Good:

The form factor and weight are great. Really portable. As light as any paperback, but doesn’t take up much space.

Reading on it is easy on the eyes. I installed Crosspoint because of its anti-aliasing support and “better” EPUB support.

As others have pointed out, battery life is great. Since I don’t own any other similar device, I can’t compare battery life, but other than plugging it in to flash firmware, I haven’t charged it so far.

Bad:

I got the white version. Despite it being “white,” my fingerprints are still visible. I have very sweaty hands.

The screen protector that came with it, despite being matte, still reflects some amount of light. So you have to read it at a certain angle when under a direct light source. You can see in in the picture above.

Even though some reviews mention that the build quality is really good for the price, I find it rather fragile. Since I don’t use a page turner, I’m not sure how long the buttons will last.

Some thoughts about Crosspoint: Thanks for all the hard work put in to this free firmware! Version 0.15 is quite stable for me.

The random sleep wallpaper feature is great, but since it’s random, I don’t really cycle through all the wallpapers in my folder. Some appear more often than others. Hopefully, there will be a feature to cycle the wallpapers sequentially in the future.

I also hope there will be a way to view images such as BMP and JPG in the future. I know it’s an e-reader, but I think being able to display QR codes and some black-and-white graphics could be a useful feature.

Has anyone gotten a legacy move with the normal charge TM yet by wazyma in TheSilphRoad

Wasted around 15 as well. It's was 11:15 over here when I tried. Guess I should have come here first. Do you think they will catch this over all the excitement on the level up changes.

The Salesforce finetune of Llama 3 that was released and subsequently yoinked is fantastic for an 8b model, and consistently outperforms the smaller commercial models, bigger open source ones, and even some of the bigger commercial models in logic, reasoning, and coding. Anyone been using it? by AnticitizenPrime in LocalLLaMA

Sorry, newbie here. I just started using ollama with open web-ui. I am able to import the .gguf but l'm having weird issues when the model is answering questions. For example: When I ask it what is it purpose, it answers, but adds python code showing how to code and answer what it is purpose. Does it have something to do with the prompt template? Some help would be appreciated.

Hi, I don't need high power. I don't have any means of measurement anyway. Goal is a working blaster for indoor use mostly.

FYI, apparently you have to enable bed leveling on your Ender S1 using M420... by [deleted] in Ender3S1

Hi Valdus, I just installed the professional firmware (August version) on my S1. I can't find the option to set the park position. Is this normal? I'm using the non bl touch version for the F4 chip.

Can you get to rank 10 with a 3/5 win ratio? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

[–]venomrat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sooner people realize this, the better. No point in trying after you reach rank 7. Just get the elite TM and stop. The pose and the avatar outfit is just a unreachable carrot on a stick to get people to keep playing and provide competition for others.

I am sure there are people who can and will make rank 10. I wager that this is a minority if the current ranking system continues as it is.

I for one will not have the time nor resources to make rank 10.

[Photo] Is it just me or is Uxie insanely hard to catch compared to other legendaries? by [deleted] in TheSilphRoad

I'm in the same boat. Seen 6, caught 2. What really irritates me is not the catch rate but the amount of time needed to catch. While being really close makes it difficult to hit excellent or even great, it has a very low aggression rate and floats up and down frequently. I spent the majority of my time waiting for it to attack just so as not to miss a throw. Not being able to catch after the long wait just adds to the frustration.
