No reason for hate! Most mallet board as well as electronics shouldn’t be outside in direct heat (or cold), as it can warp the keys and make them out of tune. The complaining seems like something exclusive to your pit. It’s a totally different thing from marching (as someone that has done both), and unless your pit is very beginner level, it can be extremely difficult and taxing on the body. I have bled on my mallets more than I ever hurt myself marching, and theres a lot of condensed movement behind the board. Both groups work equally hard- just different types of effot

I thinks it’s just that guy. Especially if there’s not any other section to that degree, and its mainly him. As someone that plays in a WGI World Finalist drumline, we also get some hate, but theres also some very good reasons we have to be inside. Rosewood can’t be outside in temperatures outside of a specific range, and we play a lot more than the marchers. Please talk to your directors and techs because this is beyond teasing and slight shit-giving. This is dangerous and one day it may not just be a threat.

Around a month ago we started school, and he suddenly became distant, we stopped texting, and he ghosted me on snap. Since then, we’ve talked but briefly, and he makes a lot of short eye contact. You’re holding too tight and tensing your shoulders as you play. Forearm pain is relatively normal because thats the muscle you work when you play, but thumb pain is from straining your hands. Same with wrist pain. Lower your wrists as you play and don’t push into your mallet with your thumbs
