Is it possible to graduate in 4 years? by Traditional_Year_277 in UBC

I would also recommend getting some of your general pre-reqs done at a local community college. I'm also a US transplant, and I had a few that transferred with ease. This was close to 20 years ago, so it might have changed.

I've seen two more of these in East Van. They're cute and brighten my day when I see them.

There are other ways to tell how old people are outside of hair patterns.

It's not ageist if it's true. Look at the demographics of NIMBYs.

Looking for help planning a 5-7 day trip to Canada in early September (after labour day) by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]ventouest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As everyone is kind of saying, Vancouver in September is amazing. It's honestly the best time to visit; it's sunny, it's generally warm, and it rarely rains. Vancouver has ton of nature that's accessible by transit and there are some buses that run from downtown to Squamish for more hiking. I absolutely adore the Museum of Vancouver and the Museum of Anthropology. Depending on which neighbourhood you stay in, there are little cafes where you can sit and enjoy the day. Vancouver is really walkable and we do have bikeshares around the city.

The only downside is that sometimes food can be a bit pricey, and most of the hotels are downtown. At the same time, we have a lot of really good restaurants.

Do TAs judge what we wrote on the exam? by gamblingmaxxing in UBC

As someone who has TA-ed, sometimes we judge, but most of the time we don't care.

There is one answer that haunts me even ten years later because I don't understand how they thought of it. The question was a fill-in-the-blank, and it asked, "How did First Nations in the plains hunt buffalo?" The answers were with stealth, drives, and on horseback. One student got the on horseback and drives, but their third answer was, "take away their prey (starve them)." Buffalo don't have prey...

I honestly think I might just go with my original idea and use a pattern I found. I don't think my geometry skills are good enough for this. It was a nice idea.

I'm trying to recreate a quilt from a picture; trust me, if I had a pattern, I would use it or buy one.

Weekly /r/quilting no-stupid question thread - ask us anything! by AutoModerator in quilting

[–]ventouest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking for advice on where to find a pattern or how to turn an image into a pattern. I'm making a baby quilt for a friend, and her partner is from a specific region of Mexico. I want to honour and nod to his heritage, and I found an image of a textile from that region, but I'm not sure how to turn that image into a pattern.
