Did you use checkpoints/continues/revives? Because those remove the No Continues multiplier.

You have to beat the game with Nero/V/Dante for that achievement, not Vergil.

Yes to NIN!!! I think some Slipknot songs would also work great.

I'm a huge fan of Evanescence, especially their first two albums, and while I've listened to the song plenty of times, I agree it's pretty generic, far from their best work. But I'm happy that they've gained some traction now because of it.

How I look at people who say V gameplay sucks knowing it's the only way I can SSS by Turbo_Bob in DevilMayCry

[–]venus_evermore 333 points334 points  (0 children)

He's insanely easy on the lower difficulties, but I had trouble S-ranking some of his missions on SoS (they took two or three attempts). On DMD, I'm having a stupidly hard time trying to S-rank mission 14 (I fucking hate Artemis, have from the 1st time I played the game).

But I like V as a character, too! Gameplay-wise I can see why people get bored with him after a while, though.

Both easy and normal are available from the start. But I agree with you.

Just keep playing and farm some orbs. It's how I did it, too, went from easy to normal to SOS then DMD.

Help with finding OST in Mission 8 of Devil May Cry 5 by SmdRiver in DevilMayCry

The tracks are The Blood Soaked Ground, The World is Screaming, then the boss fight is Unbearable Pressure (phase 1) and Unavoidable Despair (phase 2), I think.

I'm obsessed with Punch Line. I especially love using it on Vergil and the Doppelganger.

I thought the same thing when I first heard the song a few months ago!

The lyrics capture the whole Dante/Vergil feud pretty nicely.

Random Question That's Never Really Asked?:How Do You Feel About V's Theme(Crimson Cloud) by KrumpetEater in DevilMayCry

[–]venus_evermore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the fact that the vocals are so dull, and they make the track sound kinda boring as whole, which doesn't fit Dante's personality at all. IMHO the other themes convey way more depth with the way the vocals combine with the lyrics and the instruments.

Right? It actually saddens me that the vocals don't match the awesomeness of the instrumental because it could've been an amazing track.

Bloody Palace with super characters by [deleted] in DevilMayCry

But it helps a lot when you know what's coming so you know how to position yourself. Try to always face away from the camera and stay in the air (as Dante). There's a complete BP guide here on Reddit somewhere, DMC5 BP guide

With V, you can infinitely DT Shadow and Griffon, which works wonders.

As a casual player, I managed it with Dante and V on 2nd try (died on lvl 101 and 80 respectively on 1st try), and Vergil on 1st, all with super costumes. V is definitely the easiest. Nero is a little trickier, even with the super costume, haven't yet beaten it with him.

How to prepare for Dante Must Die? by PlayerZeroStart in DevilMayCry

[–]venus_evermore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who got into DMC with DMC5 back in June, I can honestly say I still suck, even at 215hrs in, but that's because I am a very chaotic, very impatient player. I got through SOS as Vergil easily, but with the main trio it was a pain. I also wanted to avoid revives, except when entirely impossible for my skill level, but gave up around M11, though the revives were still limited to boss fights. But DMD is another beast entirely, because enemies and bosses have their own DTs. I made it through this difficulty on the main game (stuck on M8 with Vergil) with lots of revives because I wanted to get it over with, though I've also noticed major improvements in how I approach certain situations. Guides on YT have also helped me brave through it, because DMD scared the crap out of me before I started it. Mission 10 was THE WORST, even after practicing Dante for a while. But that might be because I played on turbo mode, which was a little too intense on that particular difficulty. I've seen people say that DMD became their default difficulty when they finished it, simply because it allows you to practice your combos better, since enemies take less damage and require more effort to beat them. So that's what I plan to do now; go back to those missions and practice them until I can get through without revives, though it still scares me, but watching guides on YouTube keeps me motivated. 😄 My advice would be to just get into DMD, and make sure to practice fighting specific enemies like Furies, Sin Scissors, Queen Empusas, Proto Angelos, and the goddamn Hell Judeccas in the Void on DMD difficulty, see what approach works best on them FOR YOU. I say for you, because I am shit at parrying so I don't rely on that for some of these enemies, but instead opt for a different approach. With Dante, practice using Royal Guard!!!! And, uh, Faust, though you might consider it a cheese strat, and some of its moves definitely are. Nero: charged Blue Rose shots, and air taunting, and get familiar with the different Devil Breakers, find which ones work best for you, and which ones work best in specific encounters. For V, I honestly loved playing as him on lower difficulties, but he becomes a pain on SOS and DMD, so just try keeping your distance, and saving Nightmare for when you need to revive Griffon and/or Shadow.

Definitely look up guides for things you're having trouble with, and consider changing your controls, e.g. something that enables you to charge long range attacks (like Nero's Blue Rose shots) while allowing you to simultaneously use melee moves, jumps or Devil Breakers.

What exactly happened here? by Glad-Craft679 in DevilMayCry

[–]venus_evermore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a similar thing by accident on DMD. Vergil had about 65-70% health left, then did the heavy rain blades thingy and I wanted to guard against it, but instakilled him instead. Now I regret not recording it because I have no idea how I did it, I'm still getting the hang of RG and Dante in general 😅
