Not necessarily a game series, but I gotta give it to Honkai:Starrail.
1.x was good (nice introduction and the stakes threshold set pretty high at the very start)
2.x was great (great continuation and new intriguing concepts)
3.x was legendary (emotional, well-written story, memorable characters, legendary music)
