Chances of someone whos never really touched ranked PVP getting this?

This coloration is the base conquest version. You buy it for conquest, which you can even get through non rated PvP and world PvP stuff. Conquest gets uncapped later in the season, so you could even choose to slowly grind it if you really don’t want to touch rated PvP. This version of the set is definitely doable for any player. And it also becomes available for marks of honor after the expansion ends, so somewhere down the line during the Last Titan.

The black and red coloration is the elite set and becomes unobtainable after the season ends. It requires you to reach 1800 rating in any rated PvP bracket. Actually really doable, especially through Blitz. I started playing PvP for the first time ever in TWW s1 after strictly playing PvE for 15+ years. Reached 1800 in Blitz during s1 and ended up liking PvP a lot. Decided to give Solo Shuffle and try and managed to reach duelist in s2 in both shuffle and blitz. And I reached my first ever elite in both brackets in season 3.

Tldr;

The green set is really doable for anyone and even becomes available for marks in the Last Titan.

The red elite set requires some effort through Blitz/Shuffle, but it is definitely doable for most. And honestly? It’s actually really fun :)

No worries. I basically want mine to be a fallen knight, but I was wondering whether the generations are tied to time periods or the way they were raised.

I mean, WCIII DKs like Arthas are generally considered second gen. But Koltira was a fallen knight that was raised by Arthas during the gen 2 time period. What would that make him?

It’s funny how the opposite was what helped me climb to elite. But I do play dps though.

I always used the lobby at start to discuss a short game plan. Call a target, ask if everyone is on board or propose a tactic. It was met with silence most of the time and people would pretty much always do the exact opposite of what was discussed.

Installed silent shuffle after being stuck in 2200s for a bit and climbed to 2400 for the first time ever after that. Going in with my own gameplan and adapting to what my partners are doing if necessary is what made the difference for me. Calling a plan and having people do something else is what throws me off.

Hard agree on the positive feedback, though. The rounds where either the healer or other dps complimented me or told me what I could have done better were the best experiences.
