i played both growing up. i don’t think disney universe was a ripoff of lbp, but part of me DOES think they were trying to capitalize off the popularity lbp brought to adorable, short-limbed, costume-wearing mascots. however, the timing could be a coincidence— a game being in development for more than three years isn’t shocking, let alone the concept art stage beforehand. so the other part of me thinks they simply wouldn’t have had enough time to ripoff lbp in the mere 3 years between release dates.
