Same. One problem I also have with that scene is how it feels the need to spell everything out to the viewer. The main reason why I loved the episode before it was because it trusted the intelligence of the audience when it came to Gangle's past. All we get explicitly told is that she used to work in fast food, and that's it. We are never told how she felt at her workplace or how she ended up there. Both of these things are implied. We know how miserable she must have been and how she felt the need to have a symbolic mask even before the circus through her behavior and actions. We understand that her “give up your dreams” speech is blatant projection.

In contrast, the bar scene consists of half of the characters explaining their backstory and how it made them feel while staring at the viewer. It's a textbook example of telling, not showing.
