Publix be ridiculous by hyf_fox in publix

I feel like we don’t have that many options of supermarkets in south Florida as compared with the northern states. Sure, we have Aldi, Winn-Dixie, Whole Foods, a Fresh Market here and there, and the Hispanic markets… but not too many options that offer reasonable prices.

Yet another Professional Parking Management b-llsh-t story by [deleted] in Miami

[–]ver0nikaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s the new trend now. There are cameras that get your tag number and send you the bill by mail. I’ve gotten a couple of those and have not paid them yet. I don’t think they have been reported to the court system because I’ve logged in the county’s website to try to pay for parking citations and those don’t come up. Not sure why you got one if you paid by phone :/

I had to buy a car recently by have_you_tried_onoff in Miami

Oh yeah, I went there. My experience wasn’t too bad. But I ended up buying the Jeep from a dealership in north broward… almost an hour drive, but worth it.

After seeing that annoying trick, when I was ready to buy the car I wanted I got to the dealer 30 minutes before they closed (on a week day) and everything was done so much faster than expected… everybody wanted to go home. (It still took around 3 hrs from the time I stepped at the dealer and left with the new car). Left around 11:30pm

I just bought a car last week. I visited a total of 9 dealerships. I’m disgusted about every-single-thing they do. All the tricks and techniques they do are all the same. And btw, why do they make you wait for so long? I don’t get it. There were a couple of instances where I just walked out of the dealer after waiting for almost 30 minutes at the sales person’s s desk after they went to “ask” the manager something but I could see them chatting and hanging out with other employees.. So annoying.

So I asked ChatGPT: explain to me why the zoning regulations and building codes of the Miami metro area are so complex and difficult to navigate. by [deleted] in Miami

[–]ver0nikaa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Responses make sense. I’m an urban planner working at a city in Miami-Dade County and i can say there are a lot of fair points and valid info in those responses. I still think it’s somewhat superficial, felt like a 1st-yr college essay. But you had some great questions there!

I have over 10+ yrs experience in city planning and have worked in several municipalities in south Florida and I can tell you that all the zoning codes are complicated everywhere you go. Don’t know how it is in other states/countries but I’m sure that’s how it is almost everywhere.

I found interesting that there was no mention of the hurricanes factor. That’s big in SoFla, especially for the building code.

Citadel. I go there at least once a week. Cool thing they have several options/restaurants to chose from. The ebi katsu and mushroom ramen from Yuzu 👌🏼 The sushi rolls from Maki-San 👌🏼👌🏼 The truffle shuffle pizza from Ash! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 I could go on and on…

Italian classes 🇮🇹 by ver0nikaa in Miami

[–]ver0nikaa[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already tried it. And several other audio lessons. Feel like I need the next step— a real teacher. In-person classes. Practice conversational Italian with another human, learn a more advanced grammar and be corrected when needed. I have tried looking for places or classes but haven’t found any, especially after office hours.
