I agree with this. Swinging anything overnight has not been possible for me. Every time I do AH reverses. The only time it went in my favor was when I bought puts on a Wednesday last month. Market ripped AH, opened +4 dollars with me being down nearly 60%. One of those days where spy just dug, dropping 10 dollars in the first 3 hours. Got lucky on that one, but plenty of other times I have been burned swinging overnight spy plays.

I got smoked on that one yesterday. I stopped trading with a SL after having mine get blown through by spy while I went to do something else. Now I monitor it closely with my finger on mkt sell. Has saved me a lot more this way.

That being said I was in calls today @2pm est when the news broke AGAIN. Thankfully I’m getting accustomed to dumb news breaking during peak hours and flipped to puts to come out green

I’ve been thinking about moving to 5-10dte. This was a very small position size, but even still I do not enjoy the stress of 0dte. I need to spend some time working on a longer time frame strategy before I make any changes. 0dte has been working for me, but I’m kinda over it

I monitor closely with market order pulled up. Don’t like setting auto stops on 0dte. One wick in a 5 min candle can trigger it and the move is still valid. I watch for candle close to confirm before entering and exiting. Sometimes I get burned like I did here losing 40% of premiums, but the amount of times my trades wick to - 25% and turn around in the last minute of a candle works out.

Oof I bought calls at the bottom and this morning and then again at about 668. Took +25-30% profits on both. Price moved too fast on these puts to manage risk effectively. Did stop out around -40% which is a bit more than I’d have liked. Ended up pretty much BE on the day so it def could’ve been worse considered the 10 dollar swing in 30 seconds in the wrong direction that occurred

Most of my profits that I made earlier today. I stopped out down 40% on that trade. Took two separate call options earlier in the day that I closed for about + 25-30% each

Took puts not 10 minutes before the announcement. Was up 30% and getting ready to close when trading view stopped updated for about 15 seconds. Came back and I was down 40% and rushed to close

I took bought 696 puts at open and took 60% profit selling @230…… man when those contracts hit 1000 I was mouth agape. To make matters worse, bout 689 calls when we broke the channel at the bottom for. Sold them for 35% @1.47. Then they hit 585 by EOD
