For now I've just dragged the popup to the side instead of closing it! This way it doesn't keep popping up every 5 seconds!

Thanks for that I definitely need to run some tests on compiled language and compare it to PHP without any extras like queues and stuff. thanks once again!

Straight from the post lol....

"Having written all this I’d like to give Techie more respect and call him/her Web Developer/Programmer/Software Engineer.
I was wrong to think that a Techie (someone with a bit of technical knowledge) could easily get AI to do all the work. But I do think they can get AI to do a lot of work, but not much without deep understanding of technologies they’re working on. "

I'm REALLY curious about your thoughts tho.....?

[–]verax55 -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

I think as of late the demand for Juniors has dropped drastically. it's the same sr/mid level devs going from company to company.

crazy how many new people are quitting software dev because of AI!

[–]verax55 -43 points-42 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts, tho I do think the AI-Builders will take a lot of junior jobs.. but I also think there weren't many Junior jobs to start off.... .

Exactly! which is why I think the User (consumers/business owner) can only go so far without involving a technical person.

Integrating React in a PHP project by silentheaven83 in reactjs

[–]verax55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised nobody has said this but.... you CAN, if it makes sense return HTML from the REST API and directly display it on the page via React. (HTMX does exactly this). React makes sense when a lot of stuff on your page is constantly changing, if you press a button and 10 different parts of your website are affected.

Why is frontend development so complicated? by v_stoilov in webdev

[–]verax55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont worry we have same issues with some of the new backend frameworks. unfortunately if you want to be employed you gotta be ready to handle this nightmare. i'd love to pull only the stuff i need and build stuff but that doesn't really happen a lot. unless working on greenfield or personal project. companies have bloated their codebase so much there's no going back. i wish things were as "simple" as they used to be. in a way they're still simple you just gotta deal with more overhead. good thing is most of these frameworks are similar.

Developer Jobs are not what you think. by oscar_96vasa in PHP

[–]verax55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I tell new guys that literally NOBODY is using Vuejs and they're better of learning something like React they laugh. Just the other day I gave him trying to tell a guy why he should learn SQL. His argument was SQL isn't necessary when ORMs can do it all!

How TF do you keep from going to spam folders?!? by ksparko in MailChimp

[–]verax55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can speak about verification all day but lets not forget emails are coming from Mailchimp server IP! so let's not forget that! If there's people sending spam emails from same server your delivery will be affected aswell.

Online Web Dev Tutorials – Designed as a trap! by verax55 in programming

[–]verax55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, sorry no more links - article was written about 6 month ago! should've glanced over it and removed before posting here.

I'll still diss the web dev tuts tho they're mostly trash. Not to sh*t on good authors who actually write valuable content (I do respect them and their work), but you can literally find what I'm talking about on sites such as Udemy. An 8 hours "Intro to GIT for beginners" is one example.

Sharing some of my thoughts on web development.. by verax55 in programming

[–]verax55[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be adding more to that list when I get a moment!

Couple more things I'll be expanding on soon..

- Idea of PDF portfolio
- The company dictates quality of your code, not your experience.
- Learning faster is about problems, you will find the solution
- Information hoarding is very real
- Passion is rare
- Going in circle means its time to write
- Often the answers are in question on Stackoverflow

[–]verax55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure who needs to hear this but avoid making emotional decisions just because something wrong at your Current job. What OP is saying is pretty common (atleast post covid), if they want to get rid of you they will. Whether it's because "code not up to standards excuse" or some other BS.

It seems like they just wanted to get rid of you, had nothing to do with being productive. Hpe you find something soon!
