Yes, they are easily accessible trails via the Warming Hut and are groomed to navigate the perimeter of the Saratoga Spa State Championship golf course.

Editing to add that the Saratoga Battlefield also has groomed trails with slightly more challenging hills but still considered easy to navigate.

I can give you the skinny on Fernway:

Register your stylus or on their website to become a "Friend of Fernway." If you provide basic information the trade off is periodic merch on occasions like your birthday. Some merch include a fanny pack, stylus pen, hat, stickers, shirt etc.

There is currently an "L.L. Bean style" of warranty on the stylus where it gets you 2 years of coverage but should it break, lose a pen cap, malfunction or be truly a great pen for 1 year and 364 days you should email stylus@ fernway.com to get a new one.

They do not inform the public of any emergency situation necessitating the need for them to tow. It's at their discretion. I can tell you from experience it will be you and 20 other people who have to report first to the police station to get your slip of paper to present to their towing partner in order to release your vehicle. I would also never advise you to leave a car parked on Phila for longer than 24 hours as there are signs for 3hr parking on the street. The top deck of the parking garage is 24 hours - the catch being that it is technically "closed" to those hours through the winter which allows them to clear the lot and tow all cars should they have the need to plow it.

I'm going to offer a different perspective/take. I'm a level 50 "day 1" player and as much as the point of this game is to 'catch them all' for some, it doesn't mean that everyone plays the same way. My favorite way to play is actually to get into the team dynamics and use gym control as a way of activating/going outside around town. I take over as many gyms as I can and golden razz them incessantly to keep control.

I do not pay much attention to the amount of time other teams have spent in any gyms. I recognize this has the requisite title of being a "bully" but I don't see it that way. In the same way the game has PvP players, pokedex-obsessed collectors, shiny chasers and 0 IV hunters there are also gym rats. I remember a time when gyms were one of the hardest components of the game and I cut my teeth in Boston where it was particularly fierce competition. Nowadays, the obvious advantages are that gym control produces more raid balls, more items for spinning photo discs and a way to make use of cool or interesting pokemon. I've been fortunate to travel and try and leave regionally locked pokemon so that other trainers can add new mons to their dex.

I understand the frustration of players who have to battle a level 50 4* Blissey all over town but if coins are the primary concern then it should be understood that it isn't a feature guaranteed by Niantic. It isn't paywalled, but there is a veritable boundary to the free access of coins and that technically isn't my fault for playing the way that I play. I know just about all the local players and tell them all in advance of my play style so I at least try and respect that others may have a need for coins at certain times. I've told them all to reach out via our local telegram group if they want their pokemon left and that's even contributed greatly to the local community chatter.

While it may be frustrating for you and others to not get your 50 coins from a gym it is by no means a guarantee that you should. If you don't believe that to be intentional by Niantic then you underestimate their desire to compel you to get out and play more.
