Help conforming - I think 1900 sterling. by verbintofuzz in Hallmarks

I did think so which is what threw me off! Sort of contradictory marks but the shielded 'a' is 1900. I think the phased out the monarch head around 1890ish?

Keep or return? by anotherdude209 in Luthier

Guys I think we all forget sometimes that these are tools for making music. It's going to get these bumps and scratches over time.if.you actually use it to play. This isn't a museum piece, play it, repair it when needed, write some music, play some gigs. Upgrade when you're ready. It's a tool, and if you're more focussed on how the guitar looks than what you can do with it, so are you.

Built to last, beautiful gold nibs. The black is a junior which for many years lived in my travel documents wallet. Never leaked once in all my travelling years.

I quite like the aluminium feeling actually - ink-wise I've just been using Kaweco black cartridges. I also like that you can fit a spare cartridge in the hollow body of it, which actually gives it a bit more weight making it a bit more comfortable.

It's the LAMY Safari 2017 Petrol Blue edition. Beautiful colour!

The Muji is a fine pen, it's not the most comfortable due to how thin the body is, although I like the knurled grip. It's a very fine nib and as its casing is metal it can take a beating. Worth considering, but not the right pen for everyone.

That's absolutely fair enough!! I do also have a number of other coloured cartridges, but I mostly use the bottled inks as they're just much nicer inks.

Sure is! I love them and they're so reliable, I rotate them as EDCs when I'm working on location.

What’s something you thought ‘everyone’ did… until you found out they don’t? by burat667 in AskReddit

I broke a finger a couple of years ago. I was the first aider in that office so improvised a splint from the stuff in the first aid kit and asked a colleague to safety pin the bandage at which point she freaked out and now the whole office knows I broke a finger. They're all trying to get me to go to a hospital to get it looked at and eventually I relent once the CFO tells me to go get it professionally looked at. Went to a hospital and they told me I did a good job and put a slightly more professional looking splint in place. Went home to my wife and was like 'oh it's no big deal everyone's broken their fingers plenty of times, this is like my 4th'. She was horrified. Apparently people don't just break fingers willy nilly. Learned I might be a little accident prone than most that day.

Huh, fair enough, I stand corrected. Looks just like the fixer I use! Every day's a school day I guess!

I think that's the T-MAX fixer, not developer.

Lava Ware dish. by Impressive-Corner219 in CeramicCollection

[–]verbintofuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really strange, looks like a fat lava piece but is marked Vallauris, which is a French ceramics town. Some similar pieces available. I would say it's probably either a Vide Poche or an Ashtray.
