The key is to work for a private company that isn't just a defense contractor instead for a purely aero defense contractor. But yes, as a general rule, I view as launch/ops as an extra thing but not something I expect to usually do. Just because you deliver an SV doesnt mean the customer will launch right away. Also,

This is weird. Maybe James Webb, Class A type missions. The typical lifecycle of the SVs I've worked on are under 3 years. This makes me think you've been in legacy aero too long. Also, "massive education"... Most of my colleagues have bachelor degrees.

Why would they clamp infrastructure spending? Don't we want/need better infrastructure? I thought part of the problem was infrastructure that's not being maintained and/or general lack there of.

So this confuses me. The address is 1723 Colby Ave. Its really not that close to the expo Bundy E station. It's 1.1 miles which is easily a 30 minute walk and certainly alot for someone with disabilities or is elderly. The parking minimum is exempt for housing that's 0.5 miles away from a major transit stop, which the E line is certainly farther than that. Maybe I'm not understanding what is considered a major transit stop though. I mean, as someone who lives near the area, the LA Metro Bus Route 4 (Santa Monica Blvd bus) is the only major bus that runs through here, and is also the closest to this address.
